We stayed here for 4 nights while touring the area and visiting the coast and wineries. We had a lovely small, but cosy room just off the communal dining room (Room 6) which had its own Nespresso machine. Tea and cake are always available in the lounge. It is really well located just a short walk into town and local restaurants.
Lisa and Kieran are very friendly, welcoming hosts. The breakfasts cooked by Kieran were different every day and always set us up well for our day. Lisa is a mine of information on all things local, from restaurant recommendations, local shops, sightseeing, beaches, wildlife and of course vineyards. It was nice to share stories at the communal dining tables over breakfast with other guests - the guest house was full while we were there, most couples staying several nights. I can highly recommend this guest house of your are heading to Margaret River. We would definitely return.

The guest house is a lovely old convent converted into several bedrooms situated around a main common lounge and dining area targeted at short stays for couples and retirees etc. The location is within an easy 2min walk to the Main Street but far enough away to think you are further out, there is no road noise etc.
We didn’t actually didn’t spend a lot of time there we were out visiting wineries and food places most of the time but when we were there we were always made to feel welcome and at the same time given our own personal space.
If you book breakfast you won’t leave wanting more, Pete ensured there was more than enough on offer and checked to make sure we were satisfied before heading out for the day.

Their knowledge of the local area is gold giving an unbiased opinion of which wineries and food places to visit, which was great for us first timers to the area.

Thank you again we will definitely be back, regards Matt and Abbey

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in February during our travels through Western Australia. Margaret River Guest House is in a great location within easy walking distance of town and hikes along the River. Equally important, we liked our room and ensuite bathroom with shower....it was spacious, very comfortable, and clean. The Guest House also includes daily service. Last but not least, the breakfasts were generous and delicious. Another plus - we really enjoyed our conversations with the other guests both mornings. The owners also offer nice touches such as a glass of port in the evening, yummy cupcakes or similar in the afternoon with tea, comfortable seating outside your room to enjoy the garden, and so on. Thank you, Peter and Deb, for making our stay in Margaret River memorable.

Another wonderful stay and this very quaint and fantastically located establishment.

My wife and i and 9 friends just experienced a terrific Xmas in July weekend at this wonderful Guest House, now managed by hosts Lisa and Keiran Glossop. This is our first visit back to the Guest House since Deb and Pete Noonan handed over the reins , but the quality of stay is still fantastic.

Lisa is font of house and very adept at making everyone feel at home , whilst Keiran brings his many years experience as a chef to the wonderful breakfasts and the Saturday evening Xmas in July Dinner. All were superb.

The rooms are spotless and very well appointed, the dining room has has a makeover and the fireplace still radiates warmth on the cold Margaret River Winter Evenings.

This is a great place to enjoy a time away from home- whether it be 2 nights or a week away , at a location very centrally located in the heart of this great wine region and only 300 meters from the town Centre. Enjoy to the max.

This is a gem of a guest house, with a relaxed and cosy ambiance. On arrival, Lisa enthusiastically welcomes us and provides a helpful short history of the guest house, which explains it’s charmingly rambling architecture, then leads us through the public areas, points out the guest living room and location of the evening port and glasses, the breakfast room where breakfast is served from a very civilised 8.30 am, and shows us to our rather expansive room. Large bed, sitting area with comfortable sofa directly off the building’s wrap around verandah, bathroom and tea/coffee nook with a Nespresso coffeemaker and pods. It’s larger than we expected and the bed is heavenly. Lisa could not have been more helpful, recommending nearby restaurants and bars for our evening in town. The breakfast spread was something akin to what you might find in a capital city five star international hotel, and Kieran’s made-to-order hot food (eggs and asparagus for me) was divine. There is plenty of parking and the gardens colourful and varied. The location, just a five minute walk to the Main Street, is exceptional. I can’t recommend this too highly.

I booked for 5 nights for a small group of 11 and used the Guest House as our base as we completed the Cape to Cape Walk. What a great choice. All of our group was extremely happy.
Deb and Pete were the ultimate hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them, even getting up early to prepare breakfasts on 2 of our early start days.
They were very easy to deal with from beginning to end.
The guest house is situated a few minutes walk from the main street of Margaret River and is in a quiet spot. There is plenty of parking even accommodating our mini bus easily.
The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed with a good common area especially useful for our group each night.
Hot breakfasts were offered each day as well as fruit, yoghurt, home made granola and toast. We really appreciated the home cooked afternoon tea delights that were provided each afternoon on our return. They were very yummy.
We could not fault anything and will definitely be booking again when we are next in the area.
This accommodation offers an added experience while visiting the region

My husband and I could not speak highly enough about our experience at Margaret River Guest House. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and tastefully decorated with all the amenities one could want and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and wonderful soap. Our hosts, Lisa and Kieren, we so kind and welcoming providing everything from a gourmet breakfast, to cake by the fireside, to helpful tips on the best sites to visit and places to dine in the area (all advice was spot on and meant that we made the most of our time in the region). The house, which is an old convent, is lovely - full of history and tastefully furnished to give a cosy, homely and inviting feel and it is set in a glorious garden. The location of the property, in a quiet street very close to the center of town, meant that we could easily walk to shops and restaurants. We would not hesitate to book again on our next visit to MR.

A great little guest house tucked away just behind the town centre. This is a great location within walking distance of all the restaurants and pubs so no arguments about who's going to drive. The breakfasts are yummy with a different hot dish each day and Deb's granola and muesli are awesome....but the afternoon cake is really what you look forward to each day! After a day of exploring a cup of tea and a cake around the log fire are a great pick me up before dinner. If you are stuck for ideas of where to go for dinner or which wine tour to go on, just ask Pete or Deb and they will point you in the right direction.

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend and if you want to stay in town the location can not be beaten. You are just minutes from the Main Street with all the bars and eateries and yet it is whisper quiet. Q

The house is charming and Debbie and Peter are very welcoming hosts. Debbie managed to get us on a great wine tour at considerably less than 24 hours notice and Peter ensured that my picky breakfast preferences were seamlessly catered for. We also loved the afternoon tea provisions - certainly the best ANZAC cookies and Lamingtons we’ve ever had. A perfect addition to the Australia Day long weekend.

Admittedly we stayed in the cheapest room (room 6) which is next to the kitchen and the breakfast room. So in the morning you get the smell of cooking and noise from the breakfast room. The room was dark and very dated. Breakfast was the worst B&B breakfast we ever had. The host was not the most helpful either. I know this differs from the other reviews but I feel very strongly that this B&B is very over rated. I have never given 2 to any hotel/B&B before.

Response from Debbie N, Owner at Margaret River Guest House
Responded 21 Jan 2020
Dear Mike We must admit we find your review surprising and very disappointing, and as you said in stark contrast to over 700 other reviews. You called room 6 dark and dated, however it has 3 large windows, a new bathroom, new air conditioner and bedding. It also has new LED lighting. It is near the kitchen and dining room (hence the cheaper price) but these rooms are only used between the hours of 8.00am - 9.30am and it is generally only an issue to those who may choose to sleep in and not attend breakfast. In regards to your review on our breakfast, it is disappointing you chose to review something you declined to eat and then only decided to inform us of your dietary dislikes on the last morning of your stay. As you may have noticed during your stay, we are happy to amend our menu to suit our guests dietary needs, likes or dislikes. While we possess many super human qualities, mind reading is one we sadly haven't mastered yet. For whatever reason you arrived with your glass half empty and made the decision we wouldn't live up to your exacting standards, a theme repeated in many of your reviews of other businesses.

Sincere apologies doe the delay in response. i have been travelling over the last few weeks. The drive is an easy 3 hours south of Perth. There are service stations and cafes on the side of the highway to stop and recharge the batteries. The road is mostly 4 lanes to Vasse (occasionally dropping to 2 lanes between Bunbury and Busselton). The last 35 kilometers from Vasse to Margaret River is very good quality 2 lane with occasional Passing lanes.

You have chosen a good spot! I think they have 6 bedrooms in total, but you need to check with Deb and Pete directly on rooms and prices. Check their web site, which also gives the phone number and talk directly to Deb. Happy travels.
