Had an okay stay here. Reception lady was very friendly and the restaurant was pretty good with nice food and service. Hotel is historic but also a bit tired which is a shame. Good for an overnight stay and in a good location to other restaurants (though not on a Monday). Breakfast is a little boring but coffee is good.

Charles and Diana stayed here .. so did various duchesses and people in the past ... and they all had excellent taste as the Shamrock is an icon in Bendigo and country Australia. Our executive room was extremely comfortable, with very modern marble bathroom. Staff were efficient and friendly and breakfast was great. It is situated on Pall Mall, surrounded...

Room I stayed in was small but comfortable. Queen size bed, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, a workable air conditioner (didn't use heater) large inbuilt wardrobe and a small but perfectly usable bathroom with shower. The room was clean, the bed firm. Hotel staff were wonderful, helpful and attentive to needs. The deal included breakfast which included cereal, 2...

looking at the photo of the hotel says it all. No other building is more closely associated with the Bendigo history than the Hotel Shamrock. Rebuilt in 1860 after a fire destroyed it, it boasted thirty bedrooms, private parlours, a huge commercial room, dining rooms, bars, a smoking saloon and a bowling alley in the basement. It still has the...

We always stay here on our way to South Australia. Its a grand old place with lots of charm, character and history. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Our biggest pleasure when visiting here is the Cafe Bar down stairs. The Chef Vinh has done wonders with the menu. A must try is the dish "Bun Cha" its a...

Booked for a family weekend in busy Bendigo. Secure Parking was available just a short walk from the hotel although there were parks in the street that were free over the weekend. The hotel is a grand historical one and a tour was available on the Sunday afternoon. Our rooms were clean and a good size with all amenities you...

Staying at the Hotel Shamrock for the weekend was a very enjoyable experience. The building reeks Australian history. Pictures throughout the building shows not only the history of this hotel but Bendigo as well. The rooms kept a lot of their original features but contained modern facilities such as bathrooms, fridges and television. The shower water was nice and hot...

Loved this place. So close to everything we didn't need to use the car at all. Sports bar counter meals are good and cheap. Used the beer garden to eat. Beautiful balcony for guests on level 1. Will stay again for sure.

On 18/1/2017 6 of us ate at the hotel Shamrock Of the 6 meals 2 were good, one was average and 3 were poor Two of the meals, pork ribs, were particularly poor being obviously defrosted resulting in the meat near the ribs being cold. The hotel replaced one of the meals with replacement ribs that were hot but full...

The signals were there, only three occupied tables on a Thursday night. I ordered a Chicken Parma with Chips and Salad. Looked ok when it arrived but then I tasted it. Schnitzel seemed oily like it was deep fried which I suspect it was even though I was told it wasn't before I ordered it. It was dry and extremely...
