We had a family lunch there yesterday and what a wonderful experience. First rate staff. Very friendly, attentive and helpful. The atmosphere of the venue was great. The food. I would have to start by saying it was probably the best pub food I have had in Victoria. The beef cheeks were amazing. Other's had the duck risotto and loved it....

Terrific place for family dinner, particularly the 'indoor beer garden' out the back - perfect for chilly Ballarat nights. The staff were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend the crumbed pork cutlet.

Central location, specious room, comfortable bed, large bathroom, very pleasant stay. One of the nicest places we stayed during our three-week trip. Room was quiet, despite being above a restaurant and overlooking a busy street. The lack of an elevator might be a problem for some people but was not a problem for us.

For some time now, we had intended visiting Oscar's Café Bar for lunch. I agree with many of the reviews previously submitted to TripAdvisor. The food is outstanding, prices reasonable and service is quick and very friendly without being "over the top". We will certainly be back again next time we are in Ballarat.

The staff were friendly, the location ideal and the off street parking excellent. Also the on-site cafe was good and, generally, convenient. However, there was a desperate lack of shelf or drawer storage in the room and the failure to advise of the possibility (probability?) of a noisy function occurring adjacent to the room until well after the booking was...

Brilliant location in the city we could walk anywhere in a few minutes. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the hotel had great facilities and very good staff. We would stay again without hesitation

From the genuine greeting on arrive, to having my bags taken up to my room. My stay at Oscars was a delight. The room is well appointed, T2 and a well stocked mini bar. Add to that one of the cleanest bathrooms I have encountered in a hotel/ motel in a long time. Excellent stay. One disappointment, no guest feed...

A great restaurant with excellent food and service. Very good menu was plenty to chose from. Staff are very warm and friendly. Food serving are very generous. Followed up with a coffee that was prefect.

We received a free upgrade which was lovely! The room had a small balcony off of it, overlooking the main street. The shower was great and there was a lovely cafe and restaurant downstairs. The garden bar was a nice touch. Cocktails were good and the food was lovely. Definitely have the cheese board for dessert, it has a good...

We decided to try Oscar's because of Trip Advisor reviews. We were sadly disappointed - Oscar's is decidedly average. The venue is pleasant enough albeit a bit disjointed with the layout and decor - but after all, it is a 'hotel' and not a trendy restaurant. The service was definitely under par. There were a lot of staff on duty...
