Detailed Reviews
My partner and I weren’t exactly sure what to expect and after a bad experience last time we travelled to launceston we had low expectations, but this place really surprised us. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and it’s in a great location. It’s close to the city but hidden away so it feels private. The car park is easily accessible and there are multiple so you’re guaranteed to find a spot. The exterior is so nice looking and the garden out the front is lovely, and it just gets better when you go inside. The interior is so welcoming and has a really homely feel, the tvs are modern and rooms come with complimentary wifi and netflix. The bathroom is incredible aswell, had a huge spa bath and a very spacious shower with great pressure and temperature. The room itself is incredibly spacious and the black out blinds and curtains keeps the room incredibly dark. Overall we are extremely pleased with our stay and will definitely be returning!

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I find it perfect: it is really really comfortable and very quiet (blissful). The rooms are so well set up with microwave, some crockery, cutlery, tea and coffee making facilities,, bar fridge, desk, chairs, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. James has been incredibly helpful on both occasions, especially when I had to extend bookings due to a family members hospital stay etc. I wouldnt stay anywhere else in Launceston.

We stayed here for a week and are very pleased we chose the Auldington. We were welcomed by James who was as helpful and informative as anyone can be, he is a very attentive host.
The building is a character property which is full of charm. We were given a top floor room with a balcony which overlooked the town, it was a splendid view. The room was large and bright with a fridge, tea and coffee making and a small amount of crockery so that food could be enjoyed in the room. The bed was comfortable, we slept very well there.
The location is good in that it is away from the main road, slightly up a hill. The shopping district is about 20 minutes walk away, the waterfront is about 15 minutes. The grounds were well kept and there is a car park for guests. We were sad to leave at the end of our week.

The Audlington is a lovely old building which used to be a convent. It has been renovated well and the room we had was on the first floor, with a verandah outside with a view over Launceston. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. It was a short walk down the hill for a breakfast and a 10minute walk to the CBD. The staff were helpful. A lovely place to return to!

I stayed with our two small children for a night's stay during the week. I had never heard of this place nor had my friends who live in Launceston. It is certainly a hidden gem! Room was spotless and very comfortable with complimentary Netflix, well-stocked minibar, informative guest book, etc... even makeup remover wipes in the bathroom which was a great idea! The kids loved the huge bathtub. Onsite parking was very convenient and staff were also very helpful. Stay was value for money and will definitely stay again when in Launceston.

Our host James could not have been more helpful - help with suitcases, dinner options, anything. Our room was wonderful, with a comfortable bed, glorious city views, a desk overlooking those views (which were also visible from the bed), stocked fridge, internet with no data restrictions and a high quality smart TV with open Netflix access. We bought takeaway so we could sit on the balcony and enjoy the great view as we ate. The venetian blinds could be nicely adjusted to provide privacy and still enjoy the views. James helped again with the suitcases in the morning. We've got to get back for a longer stay.

Everything was so much better than expected. James was the consummate professional as well as helpful and knowledgeable. Beautiful high ceilings, great finishes, HUGE bath, stunning city views from our room and the exspansive shared balcony. We were shocked at the quality, location and service given the price was so low. Great accidental find.

It's a pleasant guest house with spacious rooms (well, ours was) - once a convent - and good facilities. We hit a warm spell in Launceston and were glad of the (silent) aircon. The manager is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local sights and eateries. The building has the well worn characteristics of a grand Victorian house, so allowances need be made. Pity there's no breakfast; the nearby Cuccina cafe does a good one, but it will delay the start of your day.

Have stayed in almost all accommodations in Launceston.
The Auldington is by far the best value establishment, large high ceiling rooms with every amenity you could want. Spotlessly clean, large fully equipped bathrooms, super fast wifi a large television with Netflix along with an amazing choice of channels via some service. Convenient free parking at the door. An interesting collection of art throughout the hotel.
An excellent choice for Launceston stays.

We arrived in Launceston on our Tasmanian holiday earlier than expected due to our airline losing a bag, looked up hotels on line and drove directly to the Auldington, we were greeted warmly on arrival and booked in for two nights, we soon discovered that Launceston had more than two days of activities so extended to three nights. Our room was warm, comfortable, clean and well equipped and extremely well located in a very quiet corner of the town. good eateries are within walking distance and the walk to Cataract Gorge is a beautiful walk from the property. we are very happy we chose the Auldington and will return
