Great service by barman but girls came on at 5 on Valentine’s Day were ordinary to say the least. Service was below average.
Advertised happy hour and made sure we had drinks 2 minutes before (charged full price) but didn’t see them again until we left “thirsty. Make sure you go when friendly day time staff are on.

Cracking pub tucker in this joint. A quick trip to Tassie to visit family and for a Monday night this place excelled. Quality of food was a wonderful surprise and the very well priced. Guinness on tap was a bonus😜
Good selections of Tassie wines and sparkling from the region.

Stayed 2 nights. Very central. Good price. Lovely old
pub with rooms above bar and restaurant. Rooms small but beautifully renovated. Good ensuite. Bed very comfortable. Pillows linen and towels great quality. One small issue was our window was to an interior hall which had extremely bright lighting that shone straight through the blinds all night. Other than that perfect. Would definitely stay again (with eye shades)

The hotel has aspirations of service and quality that are truly well above what is delivered. I can not include the photos that I took, however suffice to say this was deeply disappointing. As an example- I checked in for two nights and was told ‘no rooms’ while I produced my prepaid reservation. They ‘found’ a room but I need to change in between nights. Neither ‘fully furnished’ room even had a chair! Both showers had the water pressure of a squirt gun. Save your money.

The worst place I have ever stayed! The room was hotter than a sauna and they don’t have even a fan. When we arrived was 38 degrees and during the night was 25, but inside the room was deffo hotter.
Our windows were in front of a car park where young people where drinking, swearing , using drugs and burnouts with cars the whole night until 3:53am!!!! At 1:30am a girl and 3 guys started to scream because one of them has a GUN! they were about 50people partying with non stop. They just stopped after one of the guys get really bad injury crashing in another car in one of these burnouts. It was INSANE!!!!
The showers where super low and the water was weak and going everywhere.
I can’t explain this experience. I wouldn’t recommended this hotel not even for my enemy. After travel 22 countries and stayed in a few different hotels, including Australia, this is definitely the worst one EVER!

Launceston very quiet on a Monday night and lots of places to eat not open. So ended up at the Star Bar. Place was almost empty, but staff were very friendly and welcoming, beer was good and food was surprisingly good. Mushroom Bruschetta was especially tasty, steak cooked nicely, tasty veg and excellent mash. Would definitely recommend and eat there again.

This restaurant provided an excellent meal and great service. We were somewhat doubtful about the venue with a large bar area. However, the bartender told us that the dining section would be vey quiet until much later at night. He was correct. The seafood dishes we chose were both delicious, as were the desserts. There was a good choice of wines by the glass at very reasonable prices. The staff were both friendly and professional. Do not be put off by the somewhat functional ambiance. You will enjoy a great meal at this venue.

Ordered a pumpkin and haloumi salad and salt and pepper squid with a side of veg. Only 1 other table in the restaurant when we ordered. 1/2 am hour later we receiced the salad with no pumpkin and the squid
Without salt and pepper, cooked in cold oil. The veg was a small side of cauliflower, a few slices of carrot and 2 cubes of pumpkin. One of us is not well today despite only eating one piece of squid. Recommend not eating there until they find a new chef.

Can' say what the room was like as we never saw them.... Even though we had been in contact throughout our trip with regard to flight delays no-one was there to let us in (they had told us they would wait as they knew we were coming). Late at night, deserted street (apart from the hoons screeching around the block in their cars), 3 of us (aged between 65 and 70) with our suitcases were left on the street. We were told the next day that they were there "out the back" and didn't get any of our three phone calls (although we could hear the phone ringing from the street where we were stood).

I could almost hear the shrug of the shoulders when he (the bar Manager?) said they didn't get the calls. The owner did apologise and eventually (after many phone calls) we were refunded in full but the start of our holiday was totally spoilt.

Lovely vegetarian dinner. Highly recommend the Eggplant Parmigiana, seasonal veg, creamy mask and Arancini Balls. Excellent friendly service and atmosphere. Enjoyed the live music while eating dinner. Walking distance from our hotel.
