We stayed at village family motor inn for 3 nights in Jan 2020.
Premises and rooms are quite outdated but we didn't spent much time in anyway, just somewhere to lay our heads at the end of the night. They offer continental breakfast (toast, cereal and yoghurt with canned fruit) every morning and they also have a restaurant on site where you can get 10% off.
Our room was large with a single and queen bed and our towels were changed everyday.
Room did have a distinct old carpet smell as well as the toilet smelled everyday at the end of the day.
Service at the hotel was friendly.

Motel old and outdated. Restaurant and bar is no longer open. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only service that was done during our stay was clean towels, rubbish removed and coffee tea and sugar. Beds were not made or cleaning done.

The staff went out of their way to help my family and I when we stayed. We had to stay there quite last minute because we could not get into our Airbnb accommodation and the staff made the situation so much better. They let us use their mobile phone to access the Airbnb website (our phone was suddenly and unexpectedly outdated) and gave us a free complimentary breakfast, which was fantastic for the 6 of us. The pool and sauna were just what we needed after our stressful day. Thank you staff at Village Family Motor Inn. Thank you for your kindness and wonderful generosity.

It was as clean as it could be but wow. $220 for a two bedroom apartment. Heavily stained seats and carpet, shower and basin taps continually running, handrail removed from stairs, torn blinds, bedroom window winder broken, decor and paintwork extremely old and in need for repair, fluro lights in the bedrooms, no lamps. Little insulation from Outside and neighbours noise.
The cleaners did the best they could do but wow, well below average for any price let alone $220
Check in and checkout was pleasant and easy but about time the owners spent some money.

Booked for 3 nights for a 50th birthday surprise for my husband. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment as we had 2 teenage children with us. From the moment you walked in the old carpet smell and 'mouldy' old smell from the bathroom hit you. The premises are very outdated and could do with some serious refurbishment.
The small lounge was not very family friendly, nor comfortable and the small table and chairs were difficult for a family of 4 to sit around.
The stairs going up to the 2 bedrooms didn't feel all that safe and you could hear your neighbours walking up and down their stairs.
The bedrooms had creaky old floor boards that made quite a noise. The bed was only a double and was not too bad, although I've slept in much better, however the pillows were just horrible - not one of the 4 of us found any pillow to be comfortable and we resorted to sleeping with a folded towel under one of the very soft and cheap pillows.
Oh and we found out in the morning (after our first night there) that our door didn't actually lock, you could just push it open from the outside! Had I have known that before I went to bed, I wouldn't have slept. After speaking to reception, the owner did come and adjust the lock however I'm sure if my hubby had pushed on it with minimal force it would still have opened.
We won't be back.

So glad we were only here one night. We booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 5 adults and 2 kids as it is fairly near the airport for our flight home. The tiny bathroom hasn't been touched since the 70s, truly the worst we've seen and not enough for 7 people. Hard uncomfortable seating in the "lounge" and in the main bedroom, the bed sloped downwards. We felt that we had been transported back in time and it cost us $329 for the privilige, what a joke. There was noise from the people nearby and a dog barking during the night just to add to the joy. Drive past this place.

The 2 bedroom apartment was dreadful. One panel heater to heat the entire apartment. We sat in our down coats for ages it was so cold. There were just 3 spare old blankets for 4 beds and one bed had no electric blanket at all. The bathroom was a joke it was so small and both the shower and hand basin taps dripped badly. The ironic suggestion the guests save water by using their towels, that were threadbare summed up this disaster of a motel. The front door barely closed on the lock. We put a chair against it as a good shove would have rendered it useless. The gaping hole around the door did nothing to stop the cold coming in.
The second bedroom had a hanging rod that either required one to climb onto a ledge if you weren't 7 foot tall! The curtains were old and falling apart and lichen was growing on the window
NOT child friendly and very dangerous for toddlers.
I really can't understand why anyone thought this place was excellent unless of course they were drunk or stoned.

Although clean and tidy the accommodation is old and in need of upgrading.
A very old panel heater was unable to take the chill out of the room
The TV was a small 22", insufficient for the side of the room.
No cutlery or crockery other than cups, saucers and teaspoons
Dated.

As others have said, this motel is very tired and in need of refurbishment. However, the price reflects that and there is a functional, indoor, pool. In our room the washbasin, mirror, etc were located outside the bathroom that only contained a shower and toilet. The doonas were also very thin and the heatbank only just adequate. We also could not find any wi-fi password inside our room and there was no guest information compendium. So perhaps we might have given this facility just a one or two star rating, but it deserves better because of outstanding customer service from the reception staff member on duty. Our booking was botched (not the fault of Village), but the very helpful staff member assisted to obtain a refund from the booking engine and then also found us a room after much ringing around as it was a fully booked date. Great credit for such helpful and patient service. Well done.

This property has had nothing done to it since I stayed in the 1980’s with my family. Exceptionally noisey from the close proximity to the Launceston Southern Outlet and there is no room sound proofing. Mould and stains in shower and hand basin, bad water damage and mould to wooden panels under sink, could not open or close sliding wardrobe doors, hot water dangerously hot I could have used instead of boiling the kettle, balcony railing rusty and paint chipped all over, 1 very old plastic chair on balcony and the room caters for 3 people, the pool and sauna area should be closed mouldy, chipped and slippery paint surfaces broken ladder into pool, there were rats running around the car park . The room we booked was not a budget room we paid $270 for 2 nights a discount price there is far better accomodation available in Launceston for the price this very shabby run down property is offering. The manager was not interested with my issues with this property.
