Detailed Reviews
Apart from being a lovely little home in a beautiful garden and a warm greeting from our host, this accommodation is incredibly well fitted out ; plus there was enough breakfast and other food stuffs to keep us going for days. When I noticed the freshly cut culinary herbs in a little glass jar for freshness I knew I was in the right place for us.An awful lot of thought and consideration has gone into everything put in there.
You are a walk out of down town so it is quiet.
Note that Cataract Gorge is a five minute walk away. After you have explored there you can walk down the gorge into town ; makes for a good day out.

My husband and I have just enjoyed a 2 night stay at this beautifully appointed and peaceful haven surrounded by a beautiful garden filled with topiary, succulents and quirky and gorgeous miniature vertical gardens. Our host Diana and her husband have left nothing to want with a very generous pantry and supplies that provided a great breakfast as well as a dinner we cooked in the apartment. The neighbourhood was quiet and distant views of the mountains added to the charm. It was also very warm and had a delightful little table and chairs in a very sunny corner to enjoy.

What a beautiful place. We've just had three nights at Topiary Haven as part of a special trip to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We couldn't have asked for more. It is beautifully appointed, with quality inclusions throughout. We have stayed in some wonderful places, but this one exceeds them all, even Switzerland! Barry and Diana have left nothing to chance, with very generous breakfast provisions enabling us to 'dine in' each morning. Everything is top quality. Coupled with privacy within a secluded garden, our stay was perfect. We are so grateful and will highly recommend. Thank you.

For the second time I chose to celebrate my birthday at Topiary Haven. Again my wife and I were delighted with the choice and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners have clearly given considerable thought to the needs of their guests and ensured they could want for nothing. Nothing has been left to chance in providing a modern and spacious, very well appointed, and spotlessly clean unit in the privacy of an enchanting and immaculate topiary garden. We felt quite pampered for the two nights of our visit and would have loved longer. Certainly Topiary Have is our go to choice when visiting Launceston.

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it immensely. Barry and Diana have created a wonderful, peaceful, secluded and very well appointed residence which is a pleasure to stay in. Generous food, fruit and pantry supplies are provided. The garden surrounding the residence is also wonderful particularly the succulents. Highly recommended.

Lovely hosts. Fantastic garden and private patio.
Great, very quiet location close to the Gorge and walking distance to IGA. Short drive to the city.
Excellent, self contained apartment. Top quality furniture, appliances and fittings.
Very clean. Generous supply of high quality breakfast supplies. Fully equipped kitchen. Too many quite surprising and useful additions to mention.
The only small disappointment was an old TV with a limited range of accessible channels.

Diana and Barry have created the perfect retreat for people wanting to experience the best of Launceston and surrounds.
The villa is beautifully presented and luxuriously appointed.
The kitchen is well equipped and modern, which made cooking a breeze.
The pantry and fridge are well stocked with breakfast supplies and basic staples.
The bed was really comfortable and warm, the electric blanket had been preset for our arrival which was a nice touch.
Just a 5 minute drive to the CBD and a short 15 minute stroll to the picturesque Cataract Gorge, it is in a fantastic location.
The hosts also leave a great list of recommended eateries, bars and shops. They have thought of everything.
I couldn't recommend Topiary Haven high enough. We will spread the word. Outstanding.

Thank you for your lovely review of our accommodation Topiary Haven, Launceston. Very much appreciated by the both of us. We are pleased that you found the location fantastic and the accommodation warm and comfortable for your arrival. A comfortable bed is essential when staying in accommodation - top of the list for our guests! We encourage guests to cook up a storm in the kitchen and to source the fresh local produce available in Launceston. We had the joy of staying in beautiful Topiary Haven for 3 nights at the beginning of July during our 3 week holiday in Tassie, and were so thrilled we chose this lovely 'house' in Launceston. This fully self contained accommodation has to be seen to be believed. Yes the photos online are lovely, but is even better when you see it in person. The quality of everything provided is 5 star and not a thing has been forgotten! Firstly Diana welcomes you with a friendly "Welcome to Launceston" and then shows you through the accommodation. She lives in the house at the front of the property, with the self contained accommodation situated behind her house, your own little 'house' with your own private entry and courtyard. The kitchen is beyond words! It is amazingly beautiful and has everything (and more) that you could possibly need. The high quality of everything provided didn't go un-noticed, everywhere you turned it was like "Oh wow, look at that!" The fridge was fully stocked with so much food! I will try to remember most of it....bacon, eggs, yoghurt, juice, bowl of vegetables, butter, milk, soft-drink and ice-creams (provided especially for our 13 year old son), and also a lovely cheese platter! Yum! Then for the pantry, well there were various cereals, breads, coffee, tea, biscuits, as well as handy things like Glad Wrap etc. The bed was unbelievably comfy, with quality linen provided. Our son was provided with a fold away bed with an innerspring mattress, which he said was super comfy too! The bathroom is beautiful and Diana even thought to provide us with 3 different coloured towels, as there were 3 of us staying, so that we would know which towel was ours. Also, I was very happy to see real bathmats provided, instead of towels for when you step out of the shower, it was lovely to have fluffy bathmats instead. That's what I mean, Diana and Barry have thought of everything!!! The full laundry facilities were very handy too! We loved staying at Topiary Haven, and if your are visiting Launceston for any reason, I hope you decide to stay here, you won't regret it! It is simply perfect!

Hello Angie, Wayne & Josh, Thank you for the brilliant review of our place at Topiary Haven. Loved having you stay and most importantly that the three of you found it welcoming, snuggly and cosy for your stay in Launceston. Barry and I would welcome you back anytime in the future ( Josh is 'a lovely young man ', normally property is adults only ). Angie your photographs are better than my website - I love them.. Best wishes to the three of you, Diana & Bazz

A fabulous home away from home. Just on the fringe of the CBD. Peaceful and quiet. Fabulous garden setting. Scrupulously clean. Plenty of space to relax. Kitchen appliances and breakfast provisions outstanding. Décor is classy and uncluttered with stacks of style and charm. I couldn't recommend this accommodation highly enough. Perfect for one night. Even better for a week. Dine out or be your own gourmet chef. Everything you could need is provided.
Private BBQ courtyard also available. The host Diana is warm, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A totally delightful place to stay. I can't think of a better place to stay in Launceston.

The first thing that strikes you as you approach the place is its location in a beautiful residential area on the hills. Then when you enter the garden to get to your apartment, you will be awestruck by how abundant the garden is. Diana and Barry have got definitely got green hands and the garden area is a place where one can spend hours just sitting and admiring the plants and the distant view of the hills. As many reviewers have pointed out, the apartment is spotlessly clean, spacious and stocked with all the facilities and items one would need. The breakfast provisions were good and there is no lack of drinks. You can also use the laundry facilities like we did after a long trip and that was most useful. Diana was a most lovely and gracious host and we wished we had more time to chat with her. Unfortunately, we were here for only a night. But we will return as this is a lovely home for much longer stays. Thank you Diana and Barry and we hope to see you in Singapore or Bangkok!
