Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Country Club Tasmania is often praised for its well-appointed rooms and assortment of amenities that cater to a variety of tastes, including several dining options and leisure facilities. The hotel's atmosphere strikes a balance between opulence and a quaint charm, though some areas are noted to be in need of an update. While guests commend the cleanliness and spaciousness, particularly in the bathrooms, the rooms themselves are sometimes described as dated. The staff is generally lauded for their professionalism and friendliness, despite occasional service hiccups. Travelers find the hotel's location ideal for relaxation and golfing, though opinions on value vary, with some considering it reasonable and others finding the food and drink prices steep.

Excellent standard King bed room. Room service breakfast was perfect. Reception and Room staff were obliging, helpful and friendly. Generally, Great variety of food at good prices at the Watercafe eatery however, the Christmas roast should be proper roasted turkey not "roll turkey" and vegies should be roasted!!. (Even if price was a little higher) Other restaurants with fabulous menus were also available and worth experiencing. All facilities were fantastic, made for a very pleasant memorable stay. Definately recommended for anyone wanting that little bit extra!.

My husband and I stayed here on the last night of our Tassie stay. It was about a fifteen minute drive to the airport. We had a hire car, not sure how you get to this property without private transport. The complex is large, with numerous bars and dining options all on site. Guests were enjoying the tennis courts, golf course and there is a gym with a spa, indoor pool and sauna. The rooms are spacious, clean and ours looked out onto mature trees. Beds were really comfortable and we were not disturbed by any noise. There was good lighting and individual bedside reading lights, easy to turn on and off.

We looked at a number of properties in Launceston before settling on the Country Club. It was downtown waterfront - at some expense versus out of town casino. We chose what we thought offered better price value and were not disappointed.

Yes, it is accommodation attached to a small casino, but it is in a pleasant location with wallabies and waterfowl in the grounds making the stay that much more enjoyable. The room itself was quiet and well equipped. It offered the standard of amenity that you would expect from such a property.

The beakfast buffet was of a very high standard. We couldn't fault the food quality or freshness. The staff were cheerful and greeted you on every occasion.

Overall an excellent stay - we would return as we felt we had received good value for money.

I have recently stayed at this property for three nights with my son. It has been 8 years since my last stay and I can honestly say that the venue has sadly lost it's pazazz. We both had a suite and the decor has not changed in the eight years which is not in itself an issue, but the quality of services is noticeably reduced. In a suite made for two people we each had 1 small shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser and two small soaps. The toilet paper is single leaf. The tea bag selection is limited and there is now a pod machine in lieu of the coffee plunger from eightyears ago. To be honest I do not believe they allow their cleaning staff, who work very hard, enough time to give the rooms a thorough clean as there was noticeable dust in the black marble .bathrooms. We had room service the first night and apart from the 1 hour 20 min wait for the food to arrive it was very disappointing. The pork ribeye was a scrawny pork chop surrounded by green cucumber chunks and a date chutney that tasted of nothing. My medium porterhouse steak was well done, the mushroom sauce tasted of soy sauce and had a miniscule piece of mushroom in it and was served in the smallest pot I have ever seen and was served with about 6 slices of "rustic" potato and undercooked broccolini. We also ordered french fries which were very pale and limp. This meal cost $107. I am sorry because the bed and pillows were superb, the staff were on the whole very friendly but quite frankly the standards are not as they were. I know we can blame Covid for many things but for the price we paid I am really sorry to say that I could not recommend it to others.

I obviously have very high standards for 4 or 5 star hotels, but feel its necessary to share my experience. No problem with on line booking, managed to get a really good rate $149 with $25 voucher for food and beverage. Communication was very good, received 2 emails thanking me for my reservation and second one confirming.

When i arrived, no parking available and obviously no valet/doorman to off load bag etc. I had to drive to the back entrance, walk through rhe gaming section, and climb a flight of stairs carrying my heavy bag. I do have problems with my feet so was not impressed. The check in went very well, very efficient, given my plastic card and directed by reception to walk down to my room.

The passage was a long walk, there were no porters or offer to carry my bag, wow, it was a long walk, by this time i was hobbling, when i reached the end of that very long corridor i saw the numbers displayed, noted the direction and walked down another long corridor, then i had to catch a lift down 1 flight, and yes, another very long walk to the end of that corridor. Thank goodness the card key worked i would had a hissy fit.

The room was tired, but pleasant with a view to a couple of trees, and that evening delighted to see some wildlife grazing.

Now comes my next surprise, there was a card stating there was a mini bar, with the contents and prices, but alas only a tiny carton of milk in the fridge. Is it too much to expect a few bottles of water? I realise Covid-19 has done its damage to our tourism industry but really? A bottle of mineral water provided would be welcome for a weary traveller.

There was a kettle with a tray of packets of tea/coffee etc, but must you fill the kettle using the bath tap?

My legs feet were killing me, but i did not want to drink water from the bathroom. So my long journey back to reception, only to be told i can get water from the bar downstairs.

This is a huge property. I could have handled a vending machine,

Don't get me wrong the staff were very accommodating and pleasant, but essential services were lacking in the hotel part.

I ate at the restaurant downstairs which opened at 5pm, i think this restaurant caters for the gaming clientele as it reminded me of a typical casino eatery.

I began my last journey back to the room. I feel like i walked 1 km from the time i parked my car to my depature the next day.

The breakfast in Links was very nice and worth the $28.

I do not think i will return to the Country Club again for an overnight stay. I feel there are better hotels in Launceston.

We booked a Deluxe King room and you would expect a bit of luxury. We regularly stay at the Casino but this time we were disappointed. The only toiletries were standard shampoo, conditioner and body wash, no shower cap for instance which you come to rely on these days, that’s just cheap. Covid precautions are in place of course but they could learn a lot from the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart. There was still no valet parking. Room service finished very early and when we got back to our room we remembered there was no minibar atm so we didn’t even have bottles of water. During COVID times a lot of hotels are leaving complimentary bottles of water. Come on Casino, if you want us back you have to lift your game I’m afraid, get some bigger televisions too. Hotels that do not get all that money for gaming do it much better than you.

This is our third stay at The Country Club Tasmania and our 2 nights were fantastic.
All staff from check in and out, casino staff, cleaning service, Terrace Kitchen staff and service desk were professional but more important warm and friendly. We booked 3 rooms and our room was the courtyard suite, which is comfortable when we had 7 adults and a baby to gather during the day. The oversized bathroom is amazing with deep spa bath and 5 head shower plus a guest toilet. This establishment has many amenities, in particular for us is the squash court which is free to use while staying. Everything was clean and covid practices are in place.

I actually found it hard to rate, it wasn’t average but it also wasn’t very good either. It was ok / good.

The King deluxe is not so deluxe. Rooms on the lower floor outside the golf course are in need of a revamp / freshen up, just that tired paint & worn carpet looking feeling. The gold ceiling in the bathroom looking average.

The shower over spa bath is extremely deep, so if you have any dodgy hips, movement disabilities or are elderly then check your room type before you book as you will find very difficult to get into the shower, we forgot to do this for the guests with us in the 2nd room booked.

Nice friendly staff as one expects at CCT.
Would stay again but would try a different room / area.

Good accommodation at a fair price. Just 3 little things:
1. Heating could be turned on prior to arrival in the cooler months.
2. One small piece of soap for 2 people - bit stingy.
3. Would prefer the mini bar to be stocked - and why not at reasonable prices.

The room was nice and quiet. Also the curtains fitted snugly, so we were not woken early by sunlight. The pillows are nice and soft, and the room was the right temperature. In all, a good value, comfortable stay in nice surroundings. Ideal to break our journey.
