Wonderful and charming bed and breakfast, spacious room with all you'd require. Jenny made our stay perfect yet was unobtrusive; this lovely old place is well kept, the architecture fabulously original – we loved the turret tower and unique staircase up to views of Launceston. Bed very comfortable (we slept in on our last day – Jenny didn't mind!) we... More

Conveniently located. The host was extremely welcoming, the room was clean and bed was comfortable. The fresh berries for breakfast were a delightful touch. Would stay again and recommend to anyone visiting the Launceston area!

I stayed in the Trevallyn Suite at the Turret House on a recent business trip to Launceston. The whole experience was overwhelmingly positive. Your hosts, Jenny and Ken, were very welcoming and full of information about local attractions. The room was spacious and the bathroom had both a bath and shower. There was a heater in the room and a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of Launceston's most iconic heritage properties, The Turret House combines the grace and elegance of yesteryear with modern comfort and convenience to create an ideal base for your stay in Northern Tasmania. The Turret House is a picturesque Queen Anne style home built in 1902 by prominent Launceston retailer, George McKinlay. It features a sweeping verandah, lead lighting, decorative cornices, ceiling roses, fireplaces and mantles and, of course, its famous turret which overlooks Launceston and the confluence of the North Esk and Tamar Rivers. Your hosts,Jenny and Ken Davey, both 5th generation Tasmanians, have an extensive knowledge of the region and a true appreciation for all it has to offer. They are happy to share their experience to assist you in creating a memorable stay. The Turret House is perfectly located within a 5 minute walk of the spectacular Cataract Gorge, a 15 minute walk to the CBD and right on the famous Tamar Valley Wine Route and Touring Route. As an added bonus it is only minutes walk from two of Launceston's most awarded restaurants - Stillwater and Cataract on Paterson. ... more   less
