We booked in for a two night, 'Luxury Escape' package. There is nothing luxurious about this tired and unwelcoming establishment. From the front it looked inviting - but that is where it ended. The lady at reception was most unfriendly. You were not invited to sit down and register, nor were any pleasantries exchanged. Just sign here and give me...

Peppers convent is a great historical building in a great area with a great restaurant(Circa 1876), but not Restaurant Eighty Eight. However this is not a great hotel. The bathrooms are small and need a complete refit as all fixtures are old and outdated. You have to climb in to high bath to have a shower. The in room fridge...

What a beautiful relaxing place to stay in the hunter valley. It is close to all the wineries but you still feel like you're away from it all. Everything about it is wonderful , the cleanliness, the food and the atmosphere. I would recommend it to all.

This beautifully reconstructed wooden building was transferred from Coonamble in 1991.It speaks of elegance and space. We enjoyed two wonderful nights there and in the heat of the late summer, the pool was most attractive. It sits in a lovely estate and its own restaurant, restaurant 88 and the award winning Circa 1876 further down in the grounds are superb.

My wife and I were visiting the Hunter Valley for 6 nights and based on Peppers Convent's website booked for a Premier Suite for the first 3 then Spicers in a Luxury Spa Suite for 3. What I had not checked was Trip Advisor Stats on reviews. While I have always assumed hotels try to influence reviews with upgrades and...

We had a beautiful, elegant corner suite with two enormous balconies. A lovely check-in welcome and amenities tray with some delicious goodies in the suite. Dinner in the Circa 1876 restaurant was a truly terrific experience and we were extremely well looked after by Trent. Definitely worth a minimum of two nights as you are right in the lovely Hunter...

Absolutely stunning building. It is such a pleasure to know that this building had been relocated and retains its original features. Stayed two nights in room 18 upstairs and cannot fault. Lovely to be able to access the verandah from the room. Love the peace and tranquility of the location. Check in was seamless and staff friendly and helpful. Will...

Stayed in room 8, upstairs on a Sunday and Monday night. Couldn't fault anything. Check in was friendly and efficient. The building is spectacular. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast and dinner were first class. And it is so beautifully quiet and relaxing. A perfect short break/ weekend getaway.

My wife and I enjoyed a great 2 night stay at this hotel. This hotel is quaint and has real character. Our room opened up onto a nice shared balcony (shared with my brother and partner) and so we were able to have private drinks outside. We were on a B&B deal and we all enjoyed the filling breakfasts. The...

Very peaceful while we were there (midweek), a beautiful room and the pool area was spotless. Having stayed at numerous quality 'chain' hotels on our trip we were rather disappointed with the inclusive breakfast at the Convent. I wasn't expecting a full buffet but being expected to pay extra for orange juice is not acceptable! In actual fact when I...
