I would recommend the Clarendon Hotel for anyone heading to Newcastle town for a night or two. The room we had was clean, spacious & also quiet. The Hotel is well located close to Darby street, cafe's & also the Foreshore.

Rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. Plenty of coffee not your usual two packets, and it has my number one requirement for a hotel it supplies face cloths. Bar is shut on a Sunday night but other than that the good value

Stayed for business; very handy location in the CBD; well appointed room, clean; great coffee at breakfast ! friendly helpful staff, easy low cost parking nearby; there is an old world pub charm and character to the building, with modern fittings in the rooms

A great place to stay for a short or overnight stay in Newcastle. We were going to see a show at the Civic Theater next door and wanted to stay overnight because we live about an hour away. They had a special show menu on in the bistro and the food was amazing. Drinks were very well priced also. We...

This hotel was perfect for a one night business trip. It is right in the centre of Newcastle CBD, very nice meals were available in the bistro and parking was available for a modest price. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Nice place. Clean and good facilities. Great double glazing on the street windows so that we never heard a peep from the traffic or anything else. Second floor meant we also had a peaceful sleep in a great bed with no noise from the excellent pub downstairs. Handy to waterfront, cafes and the CBD, an excellent launching point to explore...

We have stayed here a number of times and like the rooms and location. Make sure you remember to book the restaurant if you need it - they do not tell you that they can be booked out on Show Nights at the Civic nor do they give any preference to staying, paying guests. However there are lots of other...

Next door to civic theatre and although room was over a busy Pub it was very quiet and spacious. An unpretentious hotel giving good value for money. Aircon a little noisy, but very effective. lift access, good Pub food and good bed.

Returned to Newcastle and the Clarendon after 11 months, same warm welcome (or welcome back). The room is big and good for the wheelchair, and the front bar has a happy hour, which was nice after a pretty long day. A beer for less than $5 is a bargain these days. The bistro has a variety of breakfasts available, but...
