Myself and a mate stayed here for a night prior to do Loop the Lake 90klm cycle around Lake Macquarie. I wasn't looking for anything really expensive and Hotel Jesmond worked out well. The sports bar was well appointed with screens for rugby, NRL and Superbikes, plus TAB and Keno. They served plenty of beers and also Coopers Pale Ale...

Stayed overnight after a conference at University of Newcastle. The hotel (pub & restaurant) is within a walking distance to the university, and good for an overnight accommodation, if you don't mind shared amenities. My room was directly above the garden area, and being a Thursday night the band was playing till late. So it can be noisy if you...

We are regulars for the yum Cha here and it never disappoints. Good selection of dishes. not as big as places like Fook Yuen Chatswood or Golden Unicorn Maroubra but for Newy it's great. The staff are always helpful and friendly.

Neat and tidy pub with good entertainment. Good location near Newcastle University. Nothing fancy simple pub accommodation with shared bathrooms and a small room but was neat and tidy for a good price with good facilities in the bar including an attached chinese restaurant

The staff were very helpful, having a restaurant within the complex and a shopping mall close by was a bonus. The entrance up to the rooms were okay, but having to use a key to get through every where is good security but a hassle with a lot of luggage, not suitable for the elderly or not fit person. We...

As I approached the hotel the sound of people and music can be heard from 200 meters away, so sleeping before they close (12:00 am) is impossible as the room is directly above a music venue. The rooms have been painted and had new carpet but little else has changed since the hotel was built (1920s?).

Great stay, friendly staff and amazing food, definitely reccommend. Only negative is the loud music from downstairs however this was bearable. In close proximity to everything, woolies accross the road 😊

Clean and tidy rooms with good access to toilet and bathroom facilities. Staff were helpful with sign in and explaining rules and regulations of hotel. The Chinese restaurant had an excellent menu with very appetising food The only downside was noise from the music downstairs but it quietened down after midnight.

Stayed 3 nights. Rooms are secure, clean with flat screen TV, mini fridge, microwave and sink. Communal bathroom area is fairly good for a Pub. The Chinese restaurant in site is very convenient and food isn't too bad. There is a courtyard area with large TV for sporting fans. Room Tariffs are fairly good for what you get as well...
