Te Anau lodge has been converted into a small hotel from a convent and hence it gives you quite a different experience to stay in. The rooms are nice and comfortable to stay in and give you a good experience. The highlight however for us was 'George'! Very kind and cheerful host, he made all the difference in the stay...

Te Anua Lodge is a convent that has been converted to a small inn/B&B. It is conveniently located (as close as you can get and stay in comfort) to Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. George was great at recommending hikes, itineraries, and restaurants. The breakfast was good but even better is the upstairs lounge where you can have a snack,...

Stayed here for a few days on a motorcycle tour of the South and loved every moment. Not much of a BnB type myself, but everything about this place exuded measured, almost effortless charm and nothing, ever, was too much trouble. Rooms: immaculate; common room with eclectic reading tastes, cake, tea, coffee, biscuits, wine, beer: charming; breakfast: excellent; host: possibly...

We had a two day adventure in fiordland and left booking our accomodation just before Christmas until the last minute. We were well looked after with a full cooked breakfast starting the day off right then with the helpful advise from the staff we enjoyed a cruise in Milford sound then headed back to our accomadation to have a helicopter...

Thank you, George, for another fabulous stay at Te Anau Lodge! For those who are contemplating a visit to Te Anau, you simply must stay here. We visit regularly and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. George is the most welcoming, gracious, and helpful host you could ever ask for. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts are sumptuous, and the...

The Te Anau Lodge used to be an old convent which was recently moved to it's current location. Upon our arrival, our hosts graciously gave us the complete tour of their facility. The rooms were pleasant and a common area was always stocked with snacks and drinks. Our hosts, Mark and George, knew a lot about the area and provided...

We loved our stay in the Cathedral room which had great views, was well appointed and very comfortable. Mark and George were welcoming and charming hosts. The home cooked breakfast was terrific. The afternoon tea and/or wine in the library was so relaxing. Special thanks to Mark who tracked down our next destination and arranged for the transfer of a...

We stayed here for a couple of days in Dec. George gave us a very warm welcome and showed us around his charming home which is a former monastery converted into a B&B. We were made to feel very comfortable throughout our stay. Breakfast is served in the communal dining room where you can swap travel stories with fellow guests...

The welcome and hospitality at Te Anau Lodge is just superb. George is a most convivial host and nothing seems to be too much for him. While we were there he drove us to a restaurant we'd chosen, drove us to an access point for the Kepler Trail after we'd dropped our car at the end, and lent his van...
