It is located at Great location, very easy access to all amenities,Base lies in the heart of city centre, you can acquire room at reasonable prices.. Bedroom for three people was enough and bath was cleaned. But staff looked bit rude at reception,as they doesn't care about the travellers that how to treat ..how to talk, how to give respect?they seems really doesn't...

I booked with my daughter and 2 friends, lucky we only paid for 1 night. The reception staff were more interested in talking to each other rather than checking us in. That was only the start of the disappointment, everything was either old, dirty or broken. The lift was out of order, the internet was not working the whole time...

There is a reason why this hostel is still available. If you want a functioning shower this is not the place to stay. The showers are a known issue to management as they just have boiling water, expected to be scolded if you want a shower. Apparently to fix it they would need to shut for two weeks which won't...

This is only for young partygoers is because there is a BAR right next to it!!!! At night it is extremely noisy and I found it hard to sleep. That being said I really do believe the staff try their best. They offer free earplugs and most staff are helpful. It is in a good central location, there's free breakfast...

We booked this last minute and checked the reviews only afterwards, we were expecting stained sheets, condoms and dirty socks all around the place and a terrible noise from the bar downstairs all night. We had a private twin room so I don't know about the dorms and we did not use the common kitchen but our room in the...

Because they have 400 beds and for 400 beds they have a very small kitchen and limited lounge space. Second experience at a Base hostel (first in Taupo) and both were bad experiences. Dirty facilities, staff who can only communicate by their scripts, unenforced rules (quiet time, alcohol) and overall not a hostel I would ever choose to stay in...

Stayed at Base Queenstown for one night (as all other hostels were full ). First thing that shocked me was the strong smell of fish in the hole level (1st) . (Probably coming from their restaurant bellow or no extraction in the guest kitchen ). Entered my room and the fish smell was replaced with a pungent permanent smell of...

Location location location! It's right in town and diagonally opposite the famous Ferberger. We could park for free on a street behind and walk to anywhere in town. The kitchen was well equipped and even had condiments for self-catering and in the morning butter and jam for those having bread. There is also coffee and tea. The staff was helpful...

The worst experience in my life, ever! The room is for 8 girls, but it was TOO small for everyone. No power plugs enough, only 4 available, for 8 people! No towels are available. The shower is terrible....is COLD or HOT...and totally unstable..impossible to take a decent shower. The staff are really bad. I´ve paid for 4 nights and just...
