Just 2 points for the Folks at Hotel to note. 1. wifi in room is not consistent, particularly rooms at the end of the corridor. 2. Looks like the missed to account my payment. My tour manager got a call about 6 hrs later.

We were booked in another hotel and changed to the Novotel and we were so glad we did. Right down by the lake side with nice views of the mountains ( and a little bit of the lake). We stayed for 11 nights which we were a bit concerned about before we got there but it turned out

Great location, a nightmare for handicapped people, restaurant is unavailable except by stairs or by begging to ride on a freight elevator. Clean large rooms, tattered carpet in places, the hotel needs a makeover in many ways, but I can't imagine a better location.

Dear 77RobertH Thanks for your feedback - you are correct that the hotel does not have lift access to the restaurant which is strange and not something that would happen today - but is something that we are planning to overcome with works that we are planning to upgrade the Hotel. Our owners are discussing this with architects, planners and the necessary suppliers. In the meantime we are upgrading the lift that we have so that it is not felt that it is a freight lift and not a pleasant experience - it is certainly not a matter of "begging" as we are more than happy to over come this issue for our guests and wish to do so in the most pleasant of ways that we can. The good thing is that once this refurbishment work is completed then we will be one of the best Hotels - in the best location in town. I am unsure what room you did have but the rooms on the forth floor are newer than the others having been built new a few years ago We apologise if this was not in place while you were with us. We do however hope that you enjoyed Queenstown Regards Jim Moore General Manager

Booked into Novatel for two nights to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We chose Novatel because of the location, wanted to be able to walk everywhere. Unfortunately my husband broke his ankle at work two weeks beforehand so was in plaster and on crutches and not able to

Dear SouthernFoody1957 Thanks for staying and congratulations on such a milestone. What a shame that your husbands injury has impacted on what should have been a special occasion - we are sorry that our team was not able to move the rooms and that they did not get back to you. We hope that you may be able to get back to Queenstown when he has recovered. If you would like to contact me I will make sure that you are well looked after. Thanks for your feedback. This hotel is located near the lakefront, downtown restaurants and shopping. An easy walk with spectacular views. There is a nice restaurant on site but we only had breakfast which consist of different priced buffets. The hotel rooms are dated, smaller than USA hotel rooms but

Thanks everyone for responding and apologies for the delay in responding from the Hotel as I have been off sick for the last couple of days. The parking that we offer at the Hotel is either self park one block from the hotel at the Wilsons Carpark in Church Street where parking for the public is $4/hour for single entry BUT where we can sell you an over night with multiple entries for $18. The other option we offer is valet parking where you pull up at the front of the hotel and give us your keys - we deliver your car back to you whenever you want it for a cost of $25 per day. There are other options with some free parking in places around Queenstown and free parking on the meters outside the hotel between 9pm and 8am - but if you are caught not paying outside of this there are heavy fines. We suggest the two options offered as the best for our guests. Jim Moore General Manager

Dear Anthony A Thanks for your questions. Most of the rooms themselves in the Hotel are the same - the difference is that of the views from the room. The Alpine Views tend to be the higher floors of our 4 storey building - looking over the town and to the Queenstown Gondola. They are not looking into parking lot however the rooms that are on the Earl Street side of the building do overlook the street but being on the higher floors are not directly looking at the cars parked there. We do not market lakeview rooms - we do have lakeside rooms that look out to the lake overlooking the park to the foreshore of the lake - in Summer these rooms have much of the view of the lake obscured by trees - but they are still popular - being on the front of the Hotel they over look the grassed area to the lake and are a good place to watch the world go by. In winter these rooms have a great view of the lake. In regards to upgrades we try hard to look after our Loyalty Members and as a Gold or Platinum member we will try to upgrade - but the Hotel stays busy most of the year and as we do not have that many Lakeside rooms they are often booked with people paying for the upgrade. Our suggestion is always that you book the room you will be happy with and if you get an upgrade that is a bonus. Regardless our team is here to try to look after you and we will do what we can to make sure this happens. I hope that this helps - regards Jim Moore General Manager

We stayed in a room facing the Bob Peak , we could see the gandola going up and down and the top of the peak. Our room was not at the front so not sure if rooms up front would have to face the parking. We could see the open sitting area between their 2 wings below our room. The lake is a few meters across the hotel property. So I assume that lake view rooms would have a good view. However, I don’t think it’s worth spending a fortune, because Queenstown is so beautiful that you would probably be outdoors more than indoors if the weather is good and if you are not on your honeymoon 😜

Dear Danglesg2 Apologies for a slow response to this - having been away on annual leave it appears that you did not get a response so I am sorry this is the case. The Hotel recommends a couple of options - self parking at Wilsons carpark where we can sell exclusive 24 hour access cards for $18. The alternative in the same park is $4/hour for the public and allows only 1 entry where ours is multi entry. The other option is a full valet service which is $25 per day - this allows you to drop the car to us at any time and for us to return it any time that you would want it. The parking meters in front of the Hotel are free after 9pm and until 8am - but if you happen to leave your car outside of these times without paying you will get a fine. These options are the best - there are other car parks around the town but for security and convenience we believe these are the best options for our guests. Regards Jim Moore General Manager

"Our room was on the top floor of the back wing, facing the garden and North West- was very sunny & quiet, no traffic noise"
"Not a lake view party area is outside. High floor over road surprisingly quiet"
"For good views lakeside is best but may be noisy"
"Ask for a quiet room if you need to (although you might sacrifice a lake view)."
"Splurge for a room facing the lake, with a balcony. You won't regret it!"
