The view out the window. Gorgeous scenery looking right over the lake. We woke up to snow falling which was amazing!
The bed is very comfortable although the 'king' was 2 singles pushed together and therefore a lump in the middle.
Stayed at Rydges for a business conference. The hotel is situated 5 minutes from the centre of town and is on the lake waterfront. The foyer, bar and restaurant are well presented and look recently modernised. However the rooms and corridors are somewhat dated. The...More
Rydges from the outset is a beautiful hotel the exterior is stunning architecture and the foyer entry is beautiful. This is where it begins and ends for me. 2 Months before my stay I booked my accommodation and requested a room with a Lake View....More
Well what can I say. It's a beautiful hotel on entry but after that it's anyone's guess. I did not get the beds I requested nor did I realise i would be awake most of the night either listening to the water tank refill that...More
There's the good and the bad with this hotel.

JANLUEY. Rydges Management. I'm concerned about the below response from Rydges Management.
Having been stuck in this lift myself, with non functioning emergency button.
At the time, we were also concerned about 11 people being an issue, we actually checked the weight limits before entering (and 30 minutes stuck there to double check..). Unless the manufacturer's limits are incorrect, I suggest you have the safety plaque inside the lift updated. Or your attitude, adjusted.
I hope that incidents like this and this forum can help Rydges to perform better I the future. Rather than this type of, 'tit for tat' response to your customers concerns.

I appreciate your feedback, On behalf of all of the team here at Rydges Queenstown we do apologise for the lift incident and we were delighted to hear all guests were fine, Unfortunately our lifts are not designed to hold 11 persons which resulted in the overloaded carriage shutting down, our maintenance team and lift contractors are investigating the emergency button as the incident was a concern.
