Its has a great lake side view from the room and the common area and internet is provided. The staff are ok but its a bit expensive but i guess most places in queenstown are. It was an ok stay but the shower seemed to be always occupied as the dorm room and two other rooms share it making it...

Thanks for your comments. Apologies for the busy bathroom facilities - there is hand sanitiser available from the dispenser in the toilet should the shower be in use. There is also the sink in the storage area of the dorm that can be used. Great to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views at Bumbles. Happy onward travels :)

First the positive mentions: It's clean tidy and modern. The kitchen is a bit small but therefore you get a stunning few in the living area! You can sit there and enjoy the few over the lake to the alps on the other site of the lake. The hostel is build on an mountain so the rooms are kind of...

Our stay at Bumbles was smooth sailing. We stayed in a co-ed 6 bed shared room and met other friendly, young travelers. The first thing we noticed was the mountain view right outside the window of our room - a beautiful thing to wake up to every morning! Fiona is probably the nicest hostel host I have ever met. She...

I shared a twin room (room 6) with a friend. The room itself was warm and comfortable and the beds was excellent. The down sides are - The toilet and shower could only be accessed by going outside and down a set of concrete stairs. There was no light on the stairs making this very hazardous at night. The only...

We appreciate you taking time to write a review - it's great to get this feedback. There is usually lighting at night for the concrete steps outside room 6 - sincere apologies if lights we not turned on when you stayed. Hand sanitiser dispensers have now been installed in all of the toilets that do not have a hand basin.

Stayed here twice for one night on either side of walking around the Milford area. Booked directly with the hostel and prepaid in advance and all the communication I had with Fiona by email was excellent. I booked well in advance and was glad to have done so as the popularity of the town and also Chinese New Year makes...

Stunning views, friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy. Would definitely stay again next time I am in Queenstown. Usually visit Queenstown in a mix of hotels, motels and backpackers and this is very comfortable!

Bumbles Backpackers....more like bumholes crap-packers. I've been travelling for around 9 months and after reading reviews online for Bumbles I chose to stay there for two nights. From the very first minute I've been thoroughly underwhelmed by this establishment. The lady on reception, all be it very polite and well spoken, wonders round with the hostel phone and leaves reception...

Book well in advance, it's a popular place and Queenstown has an acute shortage of budget accommodation. The dorms with private rooms attached unfortunately only have 1 bathroom for 10 people, so you need to be strategic about your showering time.

lovely place to stay. Clean and tidy rooms and the bathroom/shower rooms are in good condition too! Would definitely recommend this backpackers to stay but do be warned..it's quite a lively and loud place so if you have early mornings booked, it may not be for you.

Positives: the hostel is ideally suited for Queenstown, right near the centre and perfect for exploring. The kitchen/social space and free wi-fi are fine. Negatives: the 6 bed dorm rooms are arranged strangely, so my bed was in an off section with no charging point. I think plug sockets in every room in the 21st century is not too much...
