The Amity is a friendly hotel with large, clean rooms. Jo and Doug were very helpful with directions and info. It's an easy ten minute walk into the centre of town (bit harder on the way back with the steep hill!). Hotel is also on the bus route to the airport which is handy. Our room had a sitting room...

Doug and Jo made us all so very welcome, superb accommodation that was immaculate in all respects. The motel is just the right distance out of town, pleasant evening walk after one of those big holiday meals. Highly recommended plus a special bonus of Carla the motel dog, one very cool animal who's life is focused on the ball.

This was a random gem of a find! After a good review in our Lonely Planet book, we took a chance and we sooooo pleasantly surprised! don't be scared by the words 'lodge' and 'motel'. this place is perfect, clean, well run, and an amazing value for the expensive city of Queenstown! Doug is super funny, helpful, and made our stay...

Stayed for 5 nights, Doug and Jo are great hosts and were very helpful. The room, had 1 bedroom, good size separate lounge, and excellent cooking facilities. Short walk to town and all the bars and restaraunts and the gondola. A very pleasant stay and would recommend it to any one.

Many places closer to the central town for much more money. The Amity Lodge is clean, spacious (two room apartment style) and close enough to walk to dinner in town. The first night we walked down the hill for dinner which was about 10 minutes. The second night we drove to the car park on Stanley Street which is free...

Booked 3 night stay based on Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Separate bedroom, large bathroom (with a bath!), and spacious lounge with balcony sunlit in the afternoons and well-equipped kitchen area left no room for any complaints. Owner friendly and helpful. On top of that Queenstown is, of course, a good place to stay. Our first thoughts on...

After reading the reviews, it was a no-brainer staying here, and we weren't disappointed. The reviews are spot-on. Doug was great. Lots of helpful suggestions on where to go and what to see. There is lots to do and see in and around Queenstown - Coronet Peak, Arrowtown, Glenorchy, wineries. We stayed for longer than we planned, partly because Amity...

Queenstown was our first experience of new Zealand. We had booked our accommodation direct and were very pleased with our choice. We first of all met Jo, who was a very friendly, kind and interesting person. She was full of good ideas and information concerning what we may like to do. When she learned that we had tickets for a...

First off, the owner, Doug is very welcoming & warm the second you walk through the door. The rooms are apartment style, so very spacious. Location is great because though on top of the hill over town, it's our of the noise of city center yet a very easy 5-minute walk into the heart of town. The construction complaints from...

A friend recommended Amity Lodge and it certainly is one of the best motels we have stayed in 9 weeks traveling from north of Auckland to here. The price is reasonable and compares with most others we have stayed in. Owners, Doug & Jo, are a very friendly & helpful couple. It has a large living room with frig, 2...
