We had a double room which was plain but clean with comfortable bed. Linen and towels included, showers and toilets were clean and spacious. The kitchen was nice as well as lounge, but located quite far away from the rooms. Kitchen was not so well equipped as we expected from previous experience with simmilar accomodation. Be prepared there is no...

There is very little in the way of accommodation in this part of the world - in fact I think there is only one other lodge. Also, as it is so remote, it is expensive as it must cost a lot to deliver supplies. There is a range of accommodation from space for campervans, dorms and chalets. We had 2...

We drove from Wanaka to Milford Sound in one day. There are a lot of scenic spots that you want to stop at to photograph, and the road winds through the mountains so you can not travel fast. We stayed one night in the 'Back-packers' accommodation as this was the cheapest option (we had booked this at least 5 months...

We stayed here two nights in a camper van, it was very nice to find a place that would allow (and encourage) people to sleep in their camper vans. The lodge offers great food, and great tours of the sound. Fantastic experience!

We stayed for one night in a Mountain View Chalet. Expensive but worth it for the experience of staying in such an amazing location. The rooms are very special - luxurious but not over-the-top. Clean and relaxing. Try the communal kitchen facility - a necessity for backpackers and vanners but a fun experience for us and a opportunity to mingle...

We stayed in a double room with shared toilets which were clean and adequate. The room itself is really small and bereft of any amenities, not even a kettle, and the communal kitchen requires a walk across an open area to reach. We had dinner at the Pio Pio Cafe and had the Fisherman Pot and onion soup, both of...

Hi there - many thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. Our backpacker-style double rooms do have limited amenities; our chalets are a more comprehensive accommodation option. We've passed on your comments regarding the restaurant to our kitchen team.

Loved this place as it is incredibly remote but has beautiful views. We stayed in the mountain view chalet and given there are not many options to eat we decided to eat at the restaurant at the lodge for dinner. We absolutely loved the restaurant food it was delicious! Great place to stay and worth spoiling yourself for a special...

We stayed in one the riverside lodge chalets... i was expecting pretty old and basic accommodation but was pleasantly surprised at what was good quality well maintained room. And OMG the view straight out the window was superb. Make sure you bring insect repellant as the sand flies are THICK ... never seen anything like it. We stayed for 3...

PROS: I think this is only place to stay in Milford Sound so pro is....it's a place to stay. Also very cute lodge with decent restaurant. We stayed in chalet (private "cabin") - other option was shared bunk area (so your options are bare minimum or 5 star). The views were amazing with floor to ceiling, wall to wall window...
