I have stayed numerous times here, at low rates, but always stayed in the larger of the two buildings, 'Big Kiwi House', which is more the 'party' house of their two buildings. Their 'Small Kiwi House' is where I stayed this May, for the first time, and found it mostly full of travellers who were working in Christchurch, mostly on...

Kiwi House is a cool hostel. Our room was not to big and I would say I missed some lockers in there. Also, I think free WiFi should be a must everywhere nowadays. For the rest, the place is very clean, toilets, kitchen, they really take care of that, and they even provide free hair driers which I really appreciate....

Had an unexpected overnight stay in Christchurch, found this place from the airport. Was pleasantly surprised, friendly good atmosphere, they picked me up for free from the bus stop, and dropped me there also the next morning. I had a single room - clean, comfortable with a warm eiderdown on the bed. Bathroom (share) also clean too. Good price too...

This place is located approximately 20 min walk to the main city center. A little further out but walk was not too far. The hostel itself is quite nice (small house- there is a big house one too which I have been told is a little older). The small house has relatively new showers and toilets. Bed room was clean...

Very nice hostel, not so far from city center, and with accomodation very near, less than 5 minutes (ATM, pizza, Subway, fish & chips, supermarket). Staff is very welcoming, they speak japonese, spanish and french so it could be very convinient! You'll find some travellers and some long term people who stayed here since a while, always ready to have...

I stayed for 2 weeks, left for a week, then came back for another 2 weeks. The staff and long-term residents were all friendly. Good kitchen, SAFE LOCKERS for smaller items. Grocery store (SuperValue), ATM, and Subway a 2 minute walk away. Fairly quiet hostel, not too much of the super rowdy backpacker scene. A bus stop right around the...

I spent one night in Kiwi House in August. The room was nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and had a lot of suggestions on what to do in the city. When I checked out they even offered to drive me to the bus station for free. I would highly reccomend staying there

My stay in the Kiwi House was short but sweet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hostel is very clean, conveniently located some 15 minute walk to the city centre, and close to local shops and public transport. I've stayed in many backpackers, and I'd rate this one as one of the best. If I'm ever back in...
