We recently stayed in the George Hotel as part of honeymoon. The hotel really is fabulous. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. Every member of staff we met was so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were spotless and very well maintained. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and all the food was excellent. I could not fault the hotel as everything wax just so good. What makes the hotel though is the staff, so friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend the George and look forward to staying there again next time we are in Christchurch.

Terrific staff at all levels, beautifully appointed lobby, and excellent rooms. The bistro served wonderful breakfast and supper. Across the street from world class Hagley Park. Definitely the upper end of Christchurch accomodation.

This lovely small and intimate hotel is perfect for solo travellers and families alike. From my arrival to when I came to leave I felt like all the staff knew who I was, as they addressed me by name. By the 2 nd night I had spent here, the manageress knew my preference for drinks and always greeted me with a warm welcoming smile. The meals I had in “50” the hotel bistro were excellent , all beautifully plated , colourful and delicious!

Their hotel statement emphasises “ caring” - they did that for me . I would certainly recommend this as THE place to stay when visiting Christchurch. Oh and I forgot to mention “George” , the bear all guests get to take back home with them 👌

This was a brilliant hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms are well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. It’s located close to a tram line stop and is within a short distance of Cathedral square and the i-site where various excursion tickets can be purchased. We ate in the 50 Bistro which is next to the bar which was relaxed and the food was superb. Really enjoyed staying here and would recommend.

The reception at check-in (after a late flight arrival) was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast in Bistro 50 had a great selection and the food and service at dinner there was excellent. The hotel is close to the Botanic Gardens (well worth a visit) and the museum and within easy walking distance from town.
