Undoubtedly the worst motel ever. Old cramped rooms. Have to be 3 foot tall for shower. Run down. Put 3 beds together and classed as double. Had a hooker next door doing her business. Probably should have bought a tent and stayed in hagley Park. NEVER AGAIN. AVOID THIS PLACE
Arriving by taxi from Christchurch Airport it was noted that the appearance of the motel located on Riccarton road was average. The duty manager was on hand and pleasant to deal with. Our room was on the ground floor of a two story building. The unit consisted of a large room…
Location very good; many restaurants and shopping options within walkimg distance im Riccarton area. Also nearest hotel to Hagley Oval; 20 min walk or 5-min bus ride. Kitchen in the room was useful. Mostly clean rooms.
We were rather late in booking somewhere to stay in Christchurch. Since the earthquake it seems very short on hotels. Cherry Tree Lodge is a motel in the suburbs with about a dozen units. Ours was pretty standard New Zealand accommodation, with a bedroom, bathroom and a small…
Rooms are dirty and old. Have to dry hair in kitchen as no power points near any mirrors. No light over mirror in bathroom. Bed has springs poking through. Just had to go and buy toilet paper after pressing on owners doorbell for 15 minutes and no answer when you phone…
"There are no good rooms!"
"If you are traveling alone or as a couple the studio unit should be fine for a short (1 or 2 night) stay"
"If you must stay, request one at the back of the complex, away from Riccarton Road."
"We had to pay for wifi five bux a night. Really this should be included into the overall charge."
"Higher floors are above leaking water pipes."
