We went on a whim for dinner and arrived quite early but the dining area was warm and clean with staff all ready. Menu explained very well and nice time to decide and talk. Had a starter and main and both had a dessert. Everything was very nice, portion size excellent and interval between courses just right giving us time...

Charming boutique hotel perfectly located in Blenheim, NZ. Converted trust company building with unique themed rooms. We had a Spacious room with old sailing decor. Fantastic restaurant. We ate there two nights and had great meals both nights Excellent local wines. Nicolas, the manager was very friendly and helpful with great tips on nearby wineries, places to visit, and eat.

This is a historic building with all the charm of such. Rooms are nice size considering the age of the bldg. We chose the Venus room for its larger bathroom. Note that not all rooms have a shower. The old wooden floors creak.....a LOT. No blackout curtains in our room, but i like to wake up with daylight. Visiting in...

We stayed at Hotel d'Urville just a week after the Kaikoura earthquake. The only real impact on our visit was having to shift our dinner reservation forward a day so work crews could complete cosmetic repairs in the lobby and restaurant. We had a wonderful, short stay. The building makes for a unique hotel property as it began life as...

Historical building in downtown Blenheim. This property does include a great restaurant. If you are planning to stay there make a reservation before you arrive. There is no lift. Rooms are quirky and this property definitely needs a facelift using the original furniture and decor. Clean but very tired. We needed a one night stay due to change in itinerary...

Great little town and great base for exploring the Marlborough wine district. A converted bank, the rooms shine with character. Service was good and staff were very helpful. Didn't eat here but reports are that food is good.

The hotel is in an old bank building with lots of features inside. There are also lots of curiosities decorating the place throughout including the rooms. We had the d'Urville room. The hotel is a very short walk from the centre which allowed us to stretch our legs with a short stroll and aperitif in town before dinner at the...

Somehow we had book a "Night of Indulgence " here which included a bottle of bubbles and a three course meal. The former bank has been cleverly converted and our room was fine when we got there. We had a surprisingly good meal and went to bed only to find that the hotel really suffers from its location in the...

We are so sorry to hear that your night at Hotel d'Urville was one of the worst you've had because of outside shouting and laughing. Being in such a central location can be like a double-edge sword. We are situated within walking distance to all amenities which is great but on the other hand, sometimes, noise can be a problem....

Blenheim is a one-horse town, and Hotel d'Urville has been developed from an old bank. It is very quaint, has parking and have friendly staff who will do anything to help the visitor. The bathroom we had was sumptuous, with large jacouzzi bath.

Thanks for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed staying with us. The only thing that could be misleading other guest is that we do not have Jacouzzi baths in our rooms.

We often dine here when we have family visiting or just as a couple. We have never been disappointed. We highly recommend the seared scallops with black pudding and the roast lamb rump. To finish of your evening the "everything chocolate" dessert is sure to satisfy!
