Recently spent two nights in the beautiful Petite Mason Suite at French Fields which is one of the loveliest B&B's we have ever visited. No detail is missed in this lovely place from the magnificent decorating to a welcoming glass of wine with appetizers to so many more thoughtful little things. Breakfasts were beyond amazing. We were even able to...

Just the most idyllic place to stay when visiting the South Island of New Zealand. Wonderful hosts, perfect setting, stunning accommodation. In the centre of the wine growing region, it is so easy to make trips out to fully explore the area. We stayed for two nights (big mistake - should have been much longer!) in the Petite Maison which...

Just returned from 5 nights at French Fields and we could not have hoped for better. This place is just gorgeous inside and out! Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts Ruth and Barry and it's evident that they love what they do. Ruth was very happy to suggest restaurants and the better vineyards to visit and they all...

So glad that you enjoyed your time here. We loved your enthusiasm and that you mixed outdoor adventures like kayaking in the Sounds and dolphin encounters in Kaikoura...with wine tasting at our great cellar doors..and of course those lovely restaurants

We had a wonderful stay at French Fields while on our honeymoon. The lavender fields are to die for and the room we stayed in was gorgeous. There was a lot of privacy at French Fields, with a host who was warm and welcoming. Ruth's breakfasts were wonderful, and we love her lavender products which we are enjoying at home....

We just came back from a fabulous stay in NZ - one of our stops was in Blenheim and we stayed 3 nights at the French Fields B&B. What a beautiful spot this was. The Petite Maison Suite was lovely- the balcony overlooked a beautiful field of lavender in bloom and the vegetable gardens were a source of our breakfast...

This beautifully presented property exceeded our expectations. Gracious hosts Ruth & Barry have put a huge amount of effort into delivering a unique and high quality accommodation experience. It is a perfect taste of rural France in New Zealand. The Maison Lavande guest room was sumptuous and perfectly appointed. The location was quiet, the bed beautifully comfortable. The breakfast served...

We arrived at about 1 p.m. with my wife sick....

We were dismayed to learn that this had happened to these guests We were away at the time and had reminded the agent before we left that our check- in time was 3pm and to make this clear to these guests. We did not have any contact details for them. Our son arrived before 3pm to welcome them and to...

"What a fabulous property" we thought as we drove to French Fields, a bit of Provence in the Marlborough wine country. We had think twice about where we were upon seeing the lavender fields and french country estate that was to be our future home.
