Ugbrooke is a special place. From the moment we arrived Alex and Peter could not do enough for us. We stayed with another three couples, all friends from Melbourne and enjoyed the breathtaking countryside surrounding Ugbrooke. Stef, the chef served fresh, delicious and inventive meals creating a superb 6 course fish extravagance the last night of our stay. We would... More

Ugbrooke was exactly what I needed. After sightseeing in the South Island at record speed, I decided to spend my last few days unwinding in a relaxing environment--and boy, does time move slowly at Ugbrooke! My days were spent on the back patio overlooking the beautiful Awatere Valley, sipping local wines, relaxing by the pool, going for long walks down... More

After hiking for 4 long days, we arrived with a warm welcome from Alex and Peter at Ugbrooke...and what a fabulous old home. We were treated more like good friends, than just a bunch of tourists with genuine hospitality and great service. The rooms were superb with the Clifford Room being an absolute treat for people normally limited to contemporary... More

My husband and I stayed at Ugbrooke with three other couples following our gruelling 4-day walk of the Queen Charlotte Track. The rooms were a welcome combination of comfort and luxury. We stayed in the Vavasour suite which had a beautiful huge comfy bed, and plenty of room to retreat to for our own time. The other couples loved their... More

We were fortunate enough to stay at Ugbrooke and sample the wonderful hospitality of Peter and Alex. Ugbrooke is a grand old house set in beautiful countryside about 20 minutes from Blenheim and provides a great base from which to explore the region particularly the wineries and the beautiful Awatere Valley. Each evening we chose to dine-in and the resident... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this superb old home in an excellent position in the midst of vineyards Peter & Alex made us very welcome and gave us many suggestions to help us to explore this fabulous area of NZ. Because Ugbrooke Estate is a little out of town, we decided to dine in and that was the best... More

From the moment we were met by Peter at the bus and welcomed by Alex, who floated down the steps looking beautiful, we felt so at home and the surroundings were to die for. About 15 minutes out of Blenheim, the drive into Ugbriooke reveals the most beautiful house and gardens. Way more beautiful than shown on the web site.
