Lodge is very English feeling. Rooms are (lakeside) very good size. Comfortable bed. Host was very nice and accommodating. The lodge is down a dirt road and there is not much there except a beautiful fishing lake. If you are looking for a place to go fish or hang out by the lake it's very nice.

Great place to stay. Luxurious and homely at the same time. Surrounded by the wilderness with tramping, fishing, swimming, boating all at your doorstep. The dining room has a superb view with lovely hosts. My favourite was walking up to the waterfall. Beautiful hot weather and you could jump off ledges into the waterfalls pool. We also played volleyball and...

Thanks for your positive review Sophie - we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Lodge! The waterfall is a great attraction and a very easy walk from the Lodge and the photos we saw of you and your friends swimming up there are amazing. Thanks again for staying and we can't wait to see you again.

This is a home away from home . The hosts Leeanne & Jamie made us feel so welcome. Our Highest recommendation for them. The extra mile or two to travel on to Mitchells is not a problem. Take your time & relax. You are on holiday.

I would think the Lake Brunner Lodge were a special place. Old world comfort and charm in an isolated setting surrounded by bush, over looking a lake full of trout and far from the madding crowd. All this hosted by friendly "kiwis". A five star hotel with marble bathrooms - no. The solidity of timber - yes. The food -...

We recently stayed a night at Lake Brunner Lodge .....where we originally stayed on our honeymoon 45 years ago .... . Our host, Julie, was most welcoming and made us feel completely at home ... she cooked us a wonderful dinner of salmon and when we sank into the amazingly comfortable bed we slept soundly , to be awoken to...

Stayed 10 nights in the Bach Feb 2014 with two mates for a quiet fishing adventure. If you want peace, tranquility, remote location, gorgeous views with inspiring walks, along with a lake full of 4-6 pound trout this is the place for you. Personal service and the managers couldn't do enough for us. Absolutely loved the place.

I recently stayed for a night at the lodge, it reminded me of a colonial house, inside was very welcoming, library poolroom, lounge, the views were spectacular, although the weather was kind, I understand it is under new management and this seems to be working. The food was mouth watering, our hosts were attentive, but in a very sensitive way....

There are very few times when everything comes together to make a trip perfect and so it was with my stay at Lake Brunner Lodge. The food, the rooms, the location, the fishing, the west coast weather (only one day of rain!!), the dogs , the walks and most importantly the attentive hospitality of the wonderful hosts David and Jackie....
