A very good location. Access to city center is easy, and access to waterfront and Te Papa Museun as well. The room and the bunks are clean and people are very cool. It's a pleasant journey to Wellington and a pleasant accomodation.

We thought this backpackers for families was o.k, maybe have a few more games and movies for children. Other quest in the backpackers were friendly. Staff were accommodating, and the location for all our walks and visits in Wellington was great!

We stayed in a bunkbed room with share bathroom. Its location is its best. The room is clean. But you can hear everything from the corridors and next rooms. I must say it is a bit picturesque. Old fashioned. So the price you pay to stay there is fair for what you get.

Very pleasantly surprised.Dispite it being a busy weekend in Wellington and the waterloo booked to capacity we had a very peaceful stay in our suite room 310. Everything about the Waterloo exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Had an evening meal in the cafe which was value for money.Filling tasty and very affordable. Well done on providing such a wonderful venue at...

Was not sure what to expect from a backpackers hotel but we were pleasantly suprised. This hotel is in a great location, near the city centre, next to the railway station and ferry port a free bus ride away. Also not far from the Te Papa museum which is a must when visiting Wellington. Our room was clean and tidy,...

The hotel was once (in the 1950's?) considered the height of luxury. Since then it has come down in the world. Nevertheless, it still has very interesting architectural detail. It now caters to a different clientele and suited us (including the price) fine. It is also in prime position for the station shuttle to the ferry. We were there overnight...

This is one of these combined hotels/backpacker hostels. We stayed at the hotel in a twin room which provided one single and one double bed. All perfectly clean, the bathroom a bit small though. So our room easily sleeps 3pax, additional matresses can be asked for an additional ca. NZD10. Perfect location (right accross from ferry terminal, close to everything...

We stayed here for one night in a twin room. Upon arrival at 10pm after travelling all day we were greeted by a very rude female on the reception desk who just demanded a key deposit. I had a few questions about the area and our onward travel the next day and asked if she could help and she basically...

For convenience we called in for a pub meal having just arrived off the Ferry. The service wasnt great and we did have to wait quite awhile for our meals. The food was worth the wait but I won't be chosing The Waterloo next time. It simply didn't have a nice atmosphere.
