the hostel is old and some works should be done, but it's clean and the old man at the reception is so nice, friendly and helpful. every morning there is milk, cornflakes, toast, butter and jam for free. also in the evening there are many different breads and sometimes other stuff for free. the bed is very noisy but we...

First impressions seemed good, a brightly coloured building with a big lobby. Unfortunately this was short lived, the kitchen was far too small, there was one long bench that wasn't nearly enough for the amount of people in the room, and although there are 3 fridges this still wasn't enough to accomodate. The TV room was great, lots of sofas,...

Hostel is quite central with quite a steep climb and short walk from the CBD, Cuba st etc. We were upgraded from a dorm to a private double for free which I was quite glad at but the room we had the window wasn't attached to the wall so in the middle of winter it was so cold. Mattresses were...

This was by far the most run down hostel I have ever stayed at. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the sheets felt dirty and very worn. The Windows don't close properly and there were a series of break ins that week we stayed. The showers were incredibly mouldy. But the bathrooms looked like they had been cleaned so that's...

Ok. Same problem again just like any other hostel around australia, tasmania and new Zealand. Dirty rooms Smelly bed sheets and pillowcases. Unfortunately our hostel owners has a bad habit of not hiring a cleaner and not actually taking care of the hygiene issue seriously. This hostel one of them unfortunately and not surprised. Anyway, Only positive thing was friendly...

We stayed in this room two nights but the atmosphere and hostel are not recommended. The room was bare necessity, window would not close,a test was so thin every time I turned I would feel a different bar pressing in my back. Duvet was thin, ratty and not at all clean(picking off dark hairs though both of us were fair)....

This is a very cheap backpackers and as such is what you would expect. An old building, small rooms and basic beds and toilets / showers. Nothing wrong, it was clean and warm and quiet. The service was outstanding. I booked for a concert night when the whole town was full, the concert over ran and I didn't turn up...

Fine location, good beds, hot showers, free wi-fi. No complaints whatsoever. Nothing to rave about, but I enjoyed my stay and would totally stay here again. I bought a BBH card from them, but they didn't apply the discount, so that was pretty lame I guess.

Spent just one night in this hostel. Only positive point is the friendly staff. I was frozen the whole time there, with no heating in the room or elsewhere. The kitchen was the warmest due to people cooking. They didn't provide clean sheets or a pillow case. There was a fitted sheet on the bed but the pillow and comforter...

I had a great stay at Rosemere Backpackers. The rooms were a good size. The FREE wifi actually worked all over the hostel. I had a chance to speak to Mark, (The Owner) and he is such a nice guy. The thing I liked the most about him was that fact he took so much pride in the work he...

“If possible, try to avoid room 20 next to the outside terrace. It is extremely loud when the party-makers are playing music and drinking/shouting/singing/fighting late into the night!”

“Do not take the room facing the terrace - if you have a problem with noise, ask before you book. There are quieter rooms available, as there is not much traffic there.”
