The location is great! It's a large hostel and very cheap but you get what you pay for. The building is very old and it shows in the rooms and bathrooms and throughout. A lot of the people staying there are living there and you can tell. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The travelers staying were smoking weed...

First arrived and struggled to distinguish clean beds from occupied ones. The room smelled greasy and damp, windows didn't open properly and there was some form of art on the walls made from sweat. Kitchen was cramped and distigusting, with unclean dishes and dirty benches (could only locate one mug in entire kitchen). Common area was covered in drying cloths...

It's a shame, really. The staff are friendly, and the common facilities are decent. But my first impression of my dorm was "Oh, s***!" It was filthy, smelled like a teenager's room, and didn't seem to have been cleaned in weeks or possibly months. There was litter everywhere, dirty dishes, even a cigarette butt and dirty cotton buds on the...

The atmospher is very cool !! It's like home so far from home ! The breakfast and the laundry is free...

Horrible, pathetic, useless. Would never recommend anyone to stay at this place. Dirty rooms and uncomfortable bed. Mattress and duvet smelly and people smoking next door. Old and the building seems dangerous and unstable :( This was my worst accommodation experience and I would never come back in a million years. It wasn't cheap since we paid for a double...

Came for new years to Wellngton had stayed at the hostel many years ago. Found comfortable surroundings with all the amenities that one expects The only downside was the very limited WiFi in the place and a no refund policy which shouldn't be if you change plans. Should have said at check in.Apart from that, good location. Basically everything was fine...

First impressions seemed good, a brightly coloured building with a big lobby. Unfortunately this was short lived, the kitchen was far too small, there was one long bench that wasn't nearly enough for the amount of people in the room, and although there are 3 fridges this still wasn't enough to accomodate. The TV room was great, lots of sofas,...

Hostel is quite central with quite a steep climb and short walk from the CBD, Cuba st etc. We were upgraded from a dorm to a private double for free which I was quite glad at but the room we had the window wasn't attached to the wall so in the middle of winter it was so cold. Mattresses were...

This was by far the most run down hostel I have ever stayed at. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the sheets felt dirty and very worn. The Windows don't close properly and there were a series of break ins that week we stayed. The showers were incredibly mouldy. But the bathrooms looked like they had been cleaned so that's...

“If possible, try to avoid room 20 next to the outside terrace. It is extremely loud when the party-makers are playing music and drinking/shouting/singing/fighting late into the night!”

“Do not take the room facing the terrace - if you have a problem with noise, ask before you book. There are quieter rooms available, as there is not much traffic there.”
