Yes, the origin (old part) of this hotel was physically moved across the road from the site of the current Museum Te Papa by rails. Despite all its quirkiness, the art work and murals offers a sense of warmth without the impersonal feel of five-star hotels. It's location is unbeatable and more importantly, great ambience. The suite was compact but...

A great centrally located hotel that is not your stock-standard cookie cutter hotel. Modern, but individual and nice spacious rooms, and a well stocked mini bar, with full size bottles of wine. Right around the corner from Courtenay Place with tons of restaurants, bars and theatre, and across the road from Te Papa. No noise coming from other rooms. Only...

We have previously stayed in "Art" hotels, but nothing to compare with this for a great eclectic collection of artworks throughout the building, inside and out. So the art is great, but also the whole hotel experience is pretty much 5 star. There are a few minor maintenance issues starting to show, and with the new ownership it will be...

Loved out stay here back in May. Staff were attentive and took us in when we stumbled across this beautiful town in the middle of a rainy night. Boy did we love the surprise of the view of the beach and the town when we woke up!

There's no doubting the Museum Art Hotel is a great spot. In a cool location near Wellington's waterfront. We had a lovely stay. Our room wasn't huge but it was v comfortable and awesome having our own heat pump to keep it at exactly the temperature we like. It's hotel Hippopotamus is absolutely magnificent too. The only thing that surprised...

We booked one of the refurbished rooms in the hotel wing, but were upgraded to a slightly larger room with a bath in the apartment wing, however I don't believe this wing is refurbished, and while still perfectly lovely, next time I would like to try the refurbished hotel wing as the decor looks stunning. Service was great. Ambience was...

Really like the ambience of this hotel, although the furniture in the downstairs lounge is pretty tired. Rooms are comfortable. Bed a bit firm for me but a good range of pillows. Could do with an extra blanket so you don't have to use the wall heater. Nespresso machine is a nice touch, but mine was broken. Best showers of...

We had a wonderful stay here. Since there are six of us, we had three rooms with balcony and harbour view. Each room is designed individually with its own theme. However size of each room may be different from each other. Each room has it own Nespresso machine as well. There is also free washing machine and dryer available for...

Stayed here for a night for work to attend a fuction. During my stay other than the room I experienced the bar, room service and the buffet breakfast. Other than the late night menu being a little short on options when hungry (had to have toasties) the service and hotel was great loved it and the atmosphere including the wee...
