We had 2 nights here recently. The building itself used to be the city museum before Te Papa was around. The Giant golden Hippopotamus atop the first floor sidewalk cover is their landmark, you can't miss it. There is art leading up to the front door as well as in the lobby,

We used the valet parking at $30 a night. They parked the car over the road in the undercover parking at the museum and told us it is locked at night with security. We just left our car in there for the two days then they brought it back over for us when we were leaving.
