This hotel has a nice foyer with piano bar and pleasant staff however there were too many annoyances for me to give the hotel a better rating. The rooms have comfy beds and clean . The free tea bag selection was minimal with just one green tea choice but lots of other ones, no saucers just in case we wanted...

Great hotel with great staff. Shaun the piano player is always a highlight. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. You always feel welcomed and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for always giving me a great stay.

Another comfortable stay at the James Cook. The James Cook is in a central location with easy access from the Terrace or Lambton Quay. The rooms and bed are very comfortable and the good is excellent!! Access to the business I visit is close by along with the CBD.

Rooms are tired and in need of renovation Our room had the air conditioning units next to it and was very noisy - level 18 be wary. Bathroom had similar need of renovation. Staff were excellent and friendly.

Walking distance to all major attractions, Te Papa, Westpac Stadium, War Museum also the important bars and restaurants. Only a lift ride to the main shopping street which for my wife was a big plus. The decor is dated but roomy and clean, buffet breakfast was very good. Like any place with a big number of staff there was a...

The hotel is a bit dated has everything you need and some great views especially from the dining room. They do need to update the TV remote control as very slow to work ad very last century. The food for both breakfast...

I have stayed here many times and enjoy the large rooms and being in a busy part of town yet so quiet in the rooms. Positioned with an easy location from the motorway it is easy to locate. There is always helpful staff at the desk any time of day or night. The restaurant is high class with breakfast being...
