Rang up to ask about the family room and the firmness of the bed as I have a bad back. He said I can't tell you about the bed as I am on my own. It was all too hard for him to answer. I asked is your place good for families? He said look I think you're after a...

We stayed in a family room with one queen bed and a single. The room had it's own bathroom and the basics for making a cup of coffee. The lodge is well located in Taupo, close to the lake and shops. The room was comfortable and clean. We would stay there again.

Stayed one night 2 adults and 2 kids - the owners were lovely and helpful and rooms were clean and relatively spacious. Decent value for money option - short car ride to Eat St or long walk. Would recommend for mid-range accomodation option and short stays.

Spent two nights here. The lodge is located a few blocks from the center, at a 15 minutes walk and there is a large supermarket close-by. We arrived in the evening after a long ride. At check-in, realizing that cash was not enough to cover the payment for both nights upfront, we asked whether it would be possible to pay...

A good budget option for taupo. Friendly welcome. A very efficient no frills operation. Cosy family room with access to hostel style kitchen. Handy to town. Great for an overnight stopover. Kids loved the bunks although a bit squeaky. Nice quiet location away from main roads b

I can't figure out the high reviews for this place. of all the other places we have been to around this price range, it seemed to be lacking. Although it is clean and provides the basic amenities, the price point was higher than I would expect. Wifi costs extra here, and the room was incredibly basic. Overall I felt like...

This place is really great. It's well priced. Rooms are excellent. My room had a TV and mini kitchen. TV lounge area too plus good laundry facilities. Nice TV lounge area too and the the showers and toilets are spotless. Close to the town centre and there is plenty of parking too.

On a street where many hotels congregate, the Silver Fern looks new, fresh and clean. Modern simplicity with no frills and no character. Wide hallways, massive communal kitchen and eating area with balcony (with no one in it). Laundry has good machines but only open certain hours. Easy undercover parking but need to walk upstairs to get to your room,...

Had a very enjoyable stay here over two nights in November. Owners were friendly and very helpful in offering and booking activities. Room was large, clean and kitchenette well equiped. Good kitchen and lounge areas. Short walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Would happily stay again!

The owner of this business is simply here to make money and not looking at providing ppl with a great customer service experience. We were looking to alter our booking because of unexpected circumstances affecting us and they were extremely rude and not willing to accommodate and hung up on us. SHOCKING!!!
