We stayed two nights at this B&B. We had a really warm welcome. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They even offered us bathing towels when we wanted to visit the hot pools because of bad weather. Breakfast is cooked fresh and there is a variety of fresh fruit an cereals Wifi is also excellent.

We had a warm welcome from Janice and Jeff, who run the Springwaters Lodge in Rotorua. It's a very good place for making tours into the region, like a trip around the lake and into the Geothermal Parks. Jeff told us all about the interesting places and gave us also a %-voucher for different events, so e.g. the Hangi-dinner in...

Location is very ideal. Super close to the lake and Hamurana Reserve which is a small but very nice park. The lodge is a quick 20min drive to town, but far enough from the distinct smell of Rotorua. Everything about the lodge felt like a 5 star hotel. The sheets and towels were of luxury standards. There were free snacks,...

Jeff and Janice just sweep you off your feet with their friendly and genuine welcome. We were booked for two nights and had asked if we could eat with them the first evening. Despite an email confusion Jeff was happy to fire up the bbq and grill some lovely steaks for us. The B & B is a large bungalow...

Had a lovely weekend, Jeff and Janice were great hosts. It was great we could bring our little fox terrier. Our room was beautifully presented, serviced daily and comfortable. Homebaking, sweets, tea, coffee cold drinks, beer, wine available to guests 24/7. Beautiful setting, a great place to stay when you want to escape the busyness of life!

Francesco and I have been staied in Springwaters Lodge for three nights during our honeymoon one month ago. Everything was perfect: the house, the room but the most beautiful thing was the kindness of the people. Every day Jeff and Janice made us a very wonderful breakfast and helped us on what to do on Rotorua. We suggest Springwaters Lodge...

We had a great stay here. Janice and Jeff are the perfect hosts. Booking a tour to Hobbiton movie set- no problem, early breakfast due to early departure- no problem. Beautiful views to the lake, quiet location and a grandious breakfast. Don´t forget to view the spring nearby! Only minutes away from Rotorua.

Thank you, we're happy to work in with our guests when they have special activities on in our wonderful area. Yes, Hamurana Springs and the walk to them is amazing, one of our favourite spots. Glad you enjoyed your time in our part of the world. Kind regards, Jeff and Janice

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Relax in modern and stylish surroundings with friendly hosts who will cater to your needs. Katherine and Steve are 'locals' having lived in the area over 25 years and are both born and bred New Zealanders. Both have worked in tourism/hospitality for several years. Steve is a true local, having grown up on a farm near by.Each of the rooms has a private en suite bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and vanity, tv and dvd player, luxury linens, robes and slippers, safe and luggage rack and a most importantly a comfortable super king sized bed.Home baking and refreshments are available self serve 24/7. There is a indoor and outdoor seating area near by the guest rooms. Katherine loves to bake so there is always something delicious to nibble on.You are welcome to bring a light meal or take aways home. There are plates, glasses, cutlery in which you are welcome to use. Otherwise, Katherine is happy to prepare you a delicious meal. This may be as simple as a sandwich or a full three course dinner - Beef barbecued steak to Japanese Curry - just let her know what you would like. Prior dinner reservations are helpful otherwise you will have a limited choice. Situated across the road from Lake Rotorua you are provided with views of the lake and Mokoia Island. In the back ground - the hills of Mt Tarawera and the city lights.Walk 500m the the famous Redwood forest and Hamurana Springs track. Both are amazing. The forest is make up of large Sequoia trees and a beautiful clear stream flowing from the spring out into the lake. Several types of birds and ducks live in this area as do of course our famous trout. You cannot buy trout in NZ - you must catch your own!Lake Rotorua is famous for trout fishing, but in our area also famous for having hundreds of 'black swans'. A 'country' 9 hole golf course is located alongside the springs walk - we have golf clubs available for those wanting to play a round.Family groups are welcome at the home of Katherine and Steve. They have two senior school aged children. There are games and books to entertain and a big front lawn to run about on. Only well behaved children can be accepted - children that will not disturb other guests in the night - otherwise a full house booking (all four rooms) is available. ... more   less
