If you are spending a day or two in Rotorua exploring the thermal parks you can't go far wrong staying at the Alpin Motel. Clean, comfortable rooms with fridge, TV, microwave, coffee maker etc. The best part is after a day of trekking around looking at geysers you can come back and relax under the stars in your own outdoor...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with family members from overseas. We booked 2 'apartments' on booking.com to stay at this motel. On arriving, we realised that the name was a bit over the top for the standard of accommodation provided. Our rooms 18 and 19 were exactly the same, yet one cost $80 per night more...

The Motel name sounds good but it is a well worn very old fashioned motel. We were only staying one night so not a problem - reflected the fact it was the cheapest motel/hotel we used in NZ, suppose you get what you pay for.

We stayed for 3 nights in this motel. It is situated in a quiet location and very convenient for the geothermal/Maori visitor centres. We really appreciated the continuous volcanic water for our own private hot tub in a little courtyard off the bedroom and the shared warm pool in the middle of the motel buildings--particularly welcome in the freezing winter...

I stayed here for 2 nights over the Auckland Ann weekend. Rooms are a little dated but reasonably priced. The front counter lady is very friendly and helpful. There’s no street noise, hot tub in private courtyard too. Everything was clean and tidy, and plenty of free internet which is rare these days. Would stay again

We stayed in Alpin Motel with our 3 kids (aged from 12 to 14) and the rooms are just perfect. It is located within walking distance from Te Puia, and it's a perfect base camp to explore the other attractions of the area. Rooms are very simple but fully equipped, clean, and managers are really welcoming, ready to help you...

Overall very accommodating, friendly staff, great amenities, free, fast Wi-Fi very handy. Stayed here last year, décor a little tired this year but still a great place to stay to enjoy local activities. Would happily go back again!.

The four of us stayed here, 2 teenagers and 2 adults. The teens had the sofa beds in the lounge and said the beds were OK. Probably not great for adults. Nice and clean rooms, serviced daily. Pool was great although could do with more regular cleaning. Some more maintenance is needed around the place like the pool area and...
