The hotel is in a beautiful spot, and great location to walk to several lovely areas of Rotorua. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the lounge is a great place to enjoy a drink from the bar and plan your evening. The 2 bedroom suites can get a little cold in the 2nd bedroom, as the heater for our room...

Grand old hotel in Rotorua. This was once upon a time such a great hotel. It is still a lovely hotel as long as you do not want the regular square room. The location could not be better if you are travelling without a car. Easy to get to tourist spots, restaurants and the Polynesian Spa. Some of the rooms...

Arrived at the hotel late in the evening when kitchen was being closed but hotel manager was happy to offer a meal. Nothing to complaint about, great service, great room, no parking problems. Pity we had to stay for just 2 nights to go further south of NZ.

We enjoy staying in classic hotels, and Princes Gate didn't disappoint. It's a lovely, stylish old place with a great history, and the hosts have done a great job of preserving it for those of us who enjoy staying somewhere with character.

We came to this hotel after a horrible night in another place in town. The Prince's Gate is perfectly situated to walk to most tourist attractions, and the whole hotel is old without FEELING old. We arrived at 9:30am, booked a room, had breakfast, and were shown to our room by 10am (which we didn't expect so early, but the...

My partner and I were in desperate need of a relaxing break and the Princes Gate Hotel was the perfect choice. The staff were very accommodating, helpful and professional. The hotel itself is elegant with a lovely authentic charm. Even though it was originally built in 1897 it is extremely comfortable. The rooms are immaculate and very well cared for...

We decided to try booking here as the convention organisers from when I booked a weekend convention mucked up a booking I had made elsewhere. It was an awesome location for the meetings at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre: just a walk through the park gate, and the dinner at the Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre was literally over...

Lovely old time feeling, very central to shops and gardens also the lake. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Rotorua to stay and enjoy the surrounds of old relics in the hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. You don't need to have a car if you like walking as location is very high.

A group of us stayed here for the weekend in three adjoining suites. The layout of the suites allowed us all to have some private time, but enjoy each others company when we chose. We had all of our meals in the restaurant. The food was consistantly excellent and beautifully presented. The service in all areas of the hotel was...

What a wonderfull place ! Well situated in the middle of Rotorua, opposite the Event centre where some small concerts etc are held, was so easy to just walk across the road after the concert. We usually stay at modern generic motels, just thought we would try this one because of the location, thought it might be a bit snooty....
