I stayed here with my mate for 3 nights before going to Cape Reinga and another one on our way back as we really enjoyed that place! It's clean, spacious and has really good mattresses even on the bunks, the only downside is that there is no place to keep your night-stuff on the upper bunks which is common in...

A very well presented hostel that is well looked after by its friendly helpful manager. There are plenty of places to sit down and relax including a lovely outdoor area. It is also conveniently located across the road from the beach. A special highlight for me was the grape vines which has some unique tasting grapes.

It's a very nice and clean hostel. One of the cleanest we've seen. Reception was very friendly and helpful. With a beautiful view on the sea, while eating breakfast or dinner on the balcony, I felt super relaxed. Cheers from the orange Mini drivers!

We stayed here for 3 nights immediately after arriving from the UK and thought it was great. I hadn’t stayed in a backpackers in almost a decade and it couldn’t have been a better re-introduction. Along with 2 friends w stayed in a 4 bed dorm on the ground floor out by the bathrooms and BBQ area. Noise was never...

We loved our stay at Cap'n Bob's, which was by far the best hostel of our whole NZ trip. The manager is doing a fabulous job and is the nicest person ever. The rooms are spacious and clean, as are the bathrooms. Upstairs you will have a kitchen and living room and just the best view of the bay. You...

One of the nicest hostels we've stayed in so far. Very clean, good layout and comfy beds! Lesley (on reception) is really nice and helpful and makes you feel very comfortable/welcome from the word go. Great location too. Would definitely recommend staying here!

This is probably the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in! It looks recently refurbished, the kitchen is gorgeous with fridge shelves neatly organized by room, and the staff are friendly and accomodating. Bathrooms are great too and there are ample outdoor common areas and games. Great location with it's own car parks, I would highly recommend this hostel!

5 Leslie made our stay fantastic. We called in after the had closed the desk but there was miraculously a room avail in the peak summer holiday season. Was a bit of a walk from the bus but was worth it. Leslie let us leave our bags through to the next afternoon, gave great advice, toured us around the grounds....

This is a nice hostel as everyone states in the reviews in terms of comfy beds, cleanliness and utensils, however please bare this in mind before booking... You get free wifi if you write a review so im guessing most people write the good reviews at the start of their stay when they haven't experienced what's to come... It's very...

Dear secretlover23 We read your comments with great interest and have spent some time considering if it is possible to change our policies in light of your dissatisfaction. You were very generous in your comments regarding how clean the hostel was during your stay and for this we thank you. However, in order for you to experience the level of...

I can't begin to tell you how great this hostel is. After being some what deflated on the whole NZ hostel experience (please learn from my mistakes- avoid the chain of Base Hostels), I was delighted to come across this little gem of a Backpackers. The new manager Lesley, was quick to make us feel very at home, and keen...
