Our family stayed here for 8 nights in January, and we are so glad we chose Cook’s Lookout as our accommodation in the Bay of Islands. The view from our room was amazing, and it was so relaxing sitting on our terrace looking out over that view during our stay - we really didn't want to go home! Norm and...

Fantastic views and a gorgeous swimming pool makes this idyllic for a summer holiday. It is 5 mins drive from Paihia township so is not for those wanting to walk to bars etc, but we enjoyed being a bit further out and able to look down on creation. Hosts were friendly and attentive, and unit was very clean and well...

Very friendly and accomodating couple Norm and Shelagh. A very peaceful spot over-looking the bay. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and used this daily. If you are on the bottom floor the pool has a gate. I found this handy as I have a 4 year old wanderer. We stayed for 3 nights. From Dec30 - Jan 2. Kitchen had...

We stayed here over Christmas in one of the studio apartments. Was lovely to have our own space and balcony with the most incredible views. Certainly felt like paradise waking up here on Christmas Day!!! Norm and Shelagh were very welcoming and helpful. Only downside was the cooking facilities , which were a little disappointing- no oven and only small...

What an amazing spot - the view from our room was stunning! It's good value, rooms are clean with no frills and Norm and Sheyla are great hosts. You definitely need a car, and bring your swimmers for the great pool! (Free wifi is fine for emailing too)

We stayed here for 6 nights over the Xmas break in a room with an ocean view. The view was amazing, right from our pillow down to the water. Cook's is perched right at the top of the hill, a few minutes out of town, looking out over Paihia. It is extremely peaceful and quiet, a nice swimming pool and...

Stayed in studio which was reasonably comfortable with great views over the river, and ideal to watch the sunrise. There is small pool area and trampoline for children The pool is ok and was warm enough to swim in it It's good 55 mins walk into town and a car is needed The hosts where lovely and very hospitable

Nicely fitted and furnished, older style motel with outstanding views. Owners couldn't be more helpful. Quiet and secluded, but still close to town. The full moon shining on the estuary and sea was stunning.

We are a couple of retirees who love to travel. Cooks Lookout Motel offered a peaceful environment with views taking in a broad vista of the Bay of Islands from above the township of Paihia. So relaxing! It was fascinating to watch the changes of colours and patterns as the tides changed during the course of each day. Our hosts...
