Let's face it, hostels are places for sleeping and eating. The dormrooms are fine, airy and peaceful. The kitchen though, was the life of this hostel, very large, spotless and well equipped. Nothing to complain about here.

The loacation of Seabeds is wonderfull. You cross the street and you are on the beach. So you have a perfect view outsside from the kitchen over the bays. Maria the owner and Anja where very helpfull and perfect hosts. The rooms and the kitchen are wonderfull and staying in a dorm is really cheap.

One of the nicer hostels I have stayed in. Clean and very friendly staff. Easy to meet other travelers. Bed not bunks. Easy walk into town. While the WiFi is free there is a limited amount of data you have access to. WiFi limited to only certain area of hostel.

I love this place and will surely return. It has unobstructed sea views from the balcony and lounge/dining room. The kitchen is spotless (cleaned every night at 9.30pm, so it is spick and span for your breakfast preparation) with lovely and good quality utensils. It is also colourful, has lovely crockery and has a generous set of spices for guests...

When I first arrive at seabeds, it was so nice that I thought I was not in the right backpacker. This hostel is incredible : Kitchen fully equiped with everything you need, most of the rooms have sea views (also the kitchen), everything is clean, really good shower, comfy queen size bed and a lot of space in the room......

We booked into a private double room, which turned out to be a family room, huge comfy queen size bed, ensuite toilet and shower. All very new looking and clean. The kitchen / diner area was really nice, modern facilities, lots of space. I would recommend to anyone!

We traveled around New Zealand for a month, staying in many different hostels and motels in both the North and South island. Seabeds was the third hostel we stayed in and it completely spoiled us for anywhere else! Why you should stay here: - A stunning location with views out to the sea. - A light, airy and elegant kitchen...

This is by far the most beautiful and clean hostel in all of New Zealand. I stayed here for 3 nights to take a bit of a vacation from my year working in Christchurch and fell in love with the hostel! Everything about it is perfect, from the comfortable beds, the amazing kitchen, the lovely owner, the location right on...

I stayed here for 2 nights right at the end of my trip through NZ, and it was honestly the best of the 25+ hostels I've stayed in while travelling New Zealand. It has all the typical amenities of a hostel: dorm rooms (with comfortable beds and no bunk beds) and shared kitchen, but it doesn't feel like you are...
