I have never been treated so rudely as I was by the owner of this hostel. As somebody who has stayed at hostels in over 25 countries I consider myself well versed in hostel etiquette. If a guest or group doesn't fit in with the crowd you could at least expect a bit of professionalism when asked to leave. Especially...

Stayed here long weekend of the wine and food festival. One member of our stay was sick in the hostel overnight but cleaned it up as soon as he woke up in the morning. Despite our apologies the manager labeled us all as 'disgusting human beings' in front of the entire backpackers and continued to harass us via text message...

Advertised as a private room it soon became apparent it was anything but . More like an extension of the dorms . Could hear everything from around the dorms /kitchen . Having said that the Pickled Parrot is a great spot for backpackers . Like a shared house everyone pulls together for a good time . Rose is a fantastic...

I had arranged for my husband, myself and four of my friends to stay for 3 nights over Labour weekend. We booked the Bach and a cabin. Both were very clean and comfortable but the bach had absolutely no privacy. The owner kept using a path to no where right next to the bach and made us feel as though...

We were searching for a nice backpacker for a couple. When we saw the offers "free bike rental, free breakfast and fishing rods" and the good reviews we decided to book this room. However when we booked in we were told that there are no fishing rods and no bikes but instead free internet and free breakfast. So when we...

We followed our friends advice and stayed with Rose at the Pickled Parrot. It has a variety of rooms at affordable prices and all the people staying there were very happy with what was being provided. We had the 'top end' ensuite apartment with balcony and couldn't believe the value for money. We stayed for three nights and would have...

I couldn't believe this was actually a backpackers! My husband and I had a double room - very lovely clean linen and a gorgeous warm blanket! Very comfortable. The kitchen had everything available - right down to the bread and jam! The living area - very cosy and welcoming with everything a traveller would need. The showers very clean and...

We just loved this backpackers. It is not a party backpackers but a relaxed place to come by yourself, in couples, friends or even families and enjoy your stay. It is located in a quiet area of the town and I have to say that it has the best sleep qualities I've ever had in a backpackers!! The kitchen and...

I love this place, it's small, cosy, laid back and set amongst the tropics. This hostel is very clean and tidy, with huge individual bathrooms with powerful showers. It has dorm rooms with very comfy bunks, fresh sheet and duvets and lots of private rooms and cabins. The quiet outside BBQ area is set amongst lush tropical plants with fairy...

Lovely chilled out hostel. Rose (the owner) is a gem and was so accommodating and helpful. Immaculately clean hostel, bathrooms are A+. Excellent communal areas and nicely decorated rooms. Kitchen a little small but well appointed and we never had a problem cooking when we wanted to. Bathrooms/toilets were just across a small courtyard from us but as we're in...
