This hostel was fantastic, great facilities, lovely woman at reception who was really welcoming, very clean and excellent value for money, really happy with our choice! We had a twin room on the beach front side, you could hear the waves at night, very cool.

Clean room. Comfy bed. Good kitchen and laundry facility as you'd expect at a YHA. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Set within a cool Art Deco town. Our room had a sea view which was a bonus. Decent hostel for a stop over if you're heading North or South.

YHA Napier is one of many hostels along the sea front. There is a large kitchen and indoor dining area with an outdoor dining area for when the weather is nice. We booked a last minute wine tour day trip with the help of one of the member's of staff and they were very quick to help when we got...

We took a private double room. The hostel is a bit dated and the space was very tight. I have slept at other YHA in NZ and this was the smallest space we had. Napier is a small town and the hostel is located quite near to the CBD. There were 3 shower+toilet on our floor but 1 could not...

Best hotel I've stayed in so far in NZ. Fair sized single room, reading light, four power points. Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Well equipped kitchen. Bathroom ok not the communal type. However shower cubicle very small & poor shower head. Good location too on seafront.

Tiny room and shared bathroom. The common rooms were little used. The kitchen was useful for long-term residents. I had breakfast at a very friendly coffee shop-Poppies-that makes great breakfasts and lunches. good coffee too at early hours.

Everyone was friendly but it wasn't the newest feeling hostel I've ever stayed in. Not a fan of the shower/toilet situation. Hate it when there's a hand towel to use instead of paper towels or a hand dryer....very unhygienic. Free parking on the street right out front which was a bonus. I normally sleep with 2 pillows so one really...

I stayed for 4 nights in a single room. Firstly 4 nights is too long in Napier as there isnt a huge amount to do and unfortunately on this occasion the weather was terrible. YHA provided little shelter from the weather as the whole place was freezing cold!! Communal areas were always empty, presumably because they were too cold to...

The hostel could be a really nice place to stay with a little bit of moderne touches. The kitchen and the room were clean. Bathrooms weren't nice. The managers are rude and agressive. The first night, we were two people talking to each other quite and with respect of all people in the house. The managers 'flat' is right next...

As a YHA member I chose to stay here for a couple of nights. I was quite surprised that I was given 100mb of data per day - not a great amount. Plus it would only work in the lounge - the signal wasn't strong enough to reach my room. The location is a short walk to be city centre...
