Stayed one night here whilst touring the northern coast. Lovely courtyard and garden in front of the motel. Very well decorated. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are good size. Very comfortable bed. Very large bathroom and great shower. Our room had no cooking facilities but had cutlery and crockery and fridge. Laundry room available for small charge. Excellent...

You know, travelling around a country means sleeping in different beds almost every night, or even using different means of transport that can accomodate you over night as well. Steady sleep for me in this case is difficult. At Ahi Kaa we had the best sleep for weeks! The room was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and with huge bathroom. It...

Stopped in to this Motel after staying here a year before . close to the beach and a stones throw from Fish n Chip shops. the beach front has a long board walk for your daytime or evening stroll . A long hike into town if your walking but if you have no ailments it can be enjoyable.

Doesn't look much from the road...the rooms are spacious with separate bedroom, large bathroom, dining, kitchen with hob and private courtyard. Immaculately presented with super friendly helpful managers. Washing facilities on site for a small fee and directly across across the road from the ocean and boardwalk. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed here when we were back to visit family. The place is very clean, nicely decorated and quiet. It is a bit away from the city centre, on a quiet street, but very close to Waikanae beach which is beautiful and a great beach for swimming.

For someone in an electric wheelchair, I found this place as being one of the best in Gisborne for the price. Large Bathroom, can manouver easily. Easy access to room and large parking space opposite the room. Getting in and out of vehicle is no problem. All this and a 5 min walk to Captain Morgan's to have the best...

Certainly appropriately named - home fires. I had a beautiful night in a one bedroom. Felt amazing with gorgeous decor and well appointed. Loved the authentic Maori touches around the place. Right across from gorgeous beach. Amazing service. I regret I didn't try their breakfast. Would love to stay there again.

At $135 a double, we found our room (bedroom, living room & bathroom) to be modern, spotless, well-appointed and new-looking. It was very conveniently sited and the husband and wife managers very welcoming and helpful.

This motel has undergone a rather extensive refurbishment, and is both lovely and easy on the eye. I had a 1 bedroom unit, well appointed, but a small bathroom which didn't need any more room as it was good utilization of space. Very close to the beach, and the local dairy which in summer would be very handy. For me...
