Good sized apartment with very comfortable bed. Everything you could need for self catering and travelling. Staff very friendly and helpful. Car park is easy to use and the spaces wide enough. Parnell is a great location for Auckland. Restaurants are superb and public transport frequent. Easy walk to the Domain and museum . The apartment is very well situated for all of this. The swimming lane is a good length but really too shallow for breast stoke and just wide enough for one person.
It’s between and average and a good because the price was too high compared to the quality of the room. However the location is great and the staff nice. Basically the place needs a revamp as the walls & furniture were all bashed and damaged and of a low quality. There were stains on the furniture and carpets and the shower was grubby looking from age not because it wasn’t clean. The bed was small and the pillows awful. The room was quite small but it was nice and quiet. The kitchen facilities in the room were very basic and minimal but it did have a washing machine and drier if you were there for a week. So all in all the only down was the cost for the quality, especially as I stay in Carlow Quest just a 5 minute walk down the road for a fraction of the price but actually had a lovely new well appointed room with more facilities in the room.…
We visit NZ often and when in Auckland always stay at Quest Parnell. Staff are most helpful and friendly. If you arrive out of hours there are detailed instuctions at the door to gain access. If arriving before your room is ready, staff will keep your luggage safe. After hours checkout is also easy. If you do have a car, you can book a secure parking bay for about $27 per night. A car is not necessary though as it's an easy 10-15 min walk into the city centre or a 2 minute walk to a nearby bus stop where there is a bus about every 10 minutes. There are plenty of good food outlets on Parnell Rd and a large Countdown supermarket near the harbour. If feeling enegetic you can walk back to Quest from there but it is uphill part of the way so it's good to use the green or orange buses which run every few minutes. We generally have a 1 bedroom apartment which is a good size and well set out and has a washing machine in the bathroom. The kitchen has a cook top and microwave, dishwasher and full sized fridge whch is very handy if self-catering and staying for a few days. The apartments are very clean and well-maintained and are serviced each day except Sunday. Highly reccommended…
After researching many hotels in Auckland, we chose the Quest Parnell. Upon arrival, check in was friendly and quick and we were given our card key with directions for the secure underground parking for $25/day (charged the nightly price when booking back in August – it is now $27/night). Easy and convenient parking. We booked 4 nights in a one bedroom and were given #18. The one bedroom was spacious and very large but also very odd. The kitchen, dining and sitting areas were set up for a business presentation. I think this room is designated for business people. An odd room choice to be given to foreign visitors. The dining table was a large wheeled conference table, there was a ‘whiteboard’ in the corner of the sitting room and a built in pull down screen above the TV. When we walked in, we looked at each other and said this wasn’t acceptable. Returning to reception we were shown another one bedroom unit at the end of the hall once floor up but it was very cramped and small. Given this was our last 4 nights of a 31 day visit on the North Island before flying home, we concurred that even though aesthetically room #18 wasn’t very pleasing, it was spacious. The white board was removed, and we removed the hotel tablecloth from the table and the room wasn’t as bad. Staff were friendly, helpful and try to accommodate. The one bedroom had a full kitchen with a large fridge, oven, cooktop, microwave and dishwasher. I have to say that housekeeping was very thorough and the unit was very clean. I like seeing actual cleaning products being used. I cannot compliment the cleaning staff enough here. There were two bathrooms in the unit, one had a stand-alone shower and the second a bathtub and shower. This bathroom also had a washer and dryer. The bedroom was small so we used luggage racks and placed them in the dining area. This apartment had a large terrace but it faces the courtyard where reception is located. Not a pleasant terrace to spend any time on. A/C worked well, wi fi signal was great. Overall we enjoyed our 4 night stay and we got used to the peculiar furnishings. The location with a car is great. You are outside the downtown but close to the museum and waterfront along with the other areas of the city. The neighbourhood of Parnell has wonderful restaurants and they are all easy to walk to. This was another reason why we chose this hotel as we knew from a previous trip that the restaurants in Parnell are excellent.…
My wife and I stayed one night in room 24 of this apartment hotel. Our room was not ready on our check-in a little early. However our luggage was looked after for us as we spent an enjoyable time walking Parnell Road. When we returned, our luggage had been put in our room for us. The room was generously sized. Even with a king bed there was a lot of space. The one room apartment was well furnished with two ring cooker, coffee machine, fridge, cutlery and dishes. The ample sized bathroom had a well sized shower and included a reasonably sized washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable. Really great value for NZ$248 (US$160) for a longer stay in this beautiful city.
We had a two bedroom apartment and the extra bathroom was a definite bonus. The place is comfortable and clean with a fairly standard living area and fully equipped kitchen including washing machine and dryer. Very little noise and the beds were comortable which, combined with the a/c, made for some good nights` sleep. The reception staff were friendly and check-in/out efficient (our out-of-hours check-in was no problem). Situated in a reasonably nice area just off the main Parnell Road, which is mostly full of decent restaurants and chi-chi shops so don`t expect any decent grocery shopping nearby though you can get some takeaway pizzas/burgers etc if that`s what you like. Not too far from the city, although when we didn`t feel like walking we just caught the train which is probably not the most efficient way of getting there and back, but seemed to be the most straightforward. Would definitely stay again…
We stayed here the first two nights of our NZ north island holiday. It was in s great location but not very clean. The rooms are very tired and need updating. Soft furnishings were dirty as were table placemats - eek!
Great location - walking distance from the centre of Auckland (20 min), Parnell shops 2min walk and you have the Parnell train station is 5min walk taking you directly into Britomart if you’d prefer not to walk. Check in process was friendly and helpful. I had clearly misinterpreted the “self parking available” on Hotels.com. I was lucky they had a spot available in the car park garage but it set me back $27 for one night which I think is a little excessive! The room itself was lovely - modern with a little kitchenette and laundry facilities. Would recommend and stay in the future
Great location to the Parnell shops ,restaurants and ASB tennis centre ( which was 15 to 20 minute easy walk ). The reception staff very courteous and helpful explaining the various facilities available. Secure car parking available for small fee under complex. Room of good standard being clean and tidy with air-conditioning.. Outlook towards the west. Restaurants virtually next door
This was our first stop on a long NZ trip and our only booking in a Quest Apartment. On arriving, check-in was easy and smooth. We had a huge apartment on the first floor with a large comfortable bed, plenty of space for luggage and a big clean bathroom with a very good shower. The bathroom had a large separate washer and dryer which worked well and were very handy considering we were 3 weeks into an 8 week trip. Plenty of natural light able to get into the room. We are used to booking apartments and not having them serviced in Europe, so having the room cleaned with the bed made and towels replaced was refreshing and definitely added to the stay. The gentleman at reception was always very helpful, we picked up a rental car just before checking out and he let us use a Quest car parking spot for free for a short while before we left. Large, clean with a nice bathroom and all the facilities you could want... couldn't fault the place and would definitely recommend. Surprising to see it is only rated 4 star on average…
