I had a great 2 nights' stay here. Mel & John are two fantastic hosts that would go way beyond the extra mile to make you feel at home and provide you with as much care, love and good and helpful instructions as they can to make your stay in Auckland a lovely one! The charming house is located at...

Excellent location on edge of downtown Auckland. 10 min walk to Quay, Sky tower, Museum & Business sector. Quaint B&B in 1901 home with old fashioned charm run by Mel & John, delightful people. Helpful orientation to Auckland highlights. Home is furnished in early 20th century motif, large living room with small kitchen for guests. Breakfast to order served in...

The owners/hosts are gracious and welcoming. Their little toy poodle Tina was icing on the cake. While there is no elevator, the hosts whisked our luggage up and down the stairs. The location is in a beautiful area with lots of trees. It's perhaps a 15-minute amble to downtown. Breakfast was ample and delicious. We highly recommend a stay in...

We recently spent 2 nights here at the end of a month-long trip. We found the location very convenient to the waterfront and downtown. Many good restaurants are in easy walking distance. The house was built around 1902 and is beautiful without being fussy and overdone. The owners could not have been nicer, providing beer and wine and a nice...

A beautiful old house, lovingly renovated and furnished, just a few minutes from the waterfront in one direction and Albert Park in the other. A warm welcome from John and Mel and some useful tips about what to do made our short stopover in Auckland a good one.

Great location across the street from the high court and walking distance to downtown, university and the Sydney tower. The owners are extremely helpful and provide an authentic feel of earlier times in Sydney. Breakfasts are specially made for each guest and you are entertained with history of the mansion and New Zealand. I would stay there again.

Quite right! It's the Auckland Central Business District's only listed heritage home you can sleep in. "There's nothing else like it" Since I've been here, four similar old houses, just in this block, have been demolished and apartment buildings plonked on their sites. "We can't control the world, just our little corner of it" Saving this house has been my...

My friend and I only had a couple of days in Auckland before heading the South Island. We arrived to a fantastic reception and welcome from John and Mel. It felt like we had arrived home! The accommodations were very clean and welcoming including guides, maps, suggested activities and even a refrigerator stocked with beer and lemonade! John was so...

When we booked this place we thought it was going to be a old, boring place but it wasn't! John nicely greeted us in the door (which was good) and told us all about the place. The place has Wi-Fi which was great! When we had breakfast Mel cooked a great feed and the most vivid thing about staying there...

This summer has been very busy and we have had a very interesting mix of nationalities staying. It makes conversation around the big breakfast table really fun. Glad you enjoyed it. Let's do it again.

We stayed here for 2 nights after our cruise. John and his wife are so welcoming and Mei cooked us a wonderful breakfast every morning. We stayed in their best suite with the private bathroom and living room. There was a bottle of good New Zealand Sauvingon Blanc wating for us in our mini-fridge - thank you John. The room...

I'm glad you found our room rate compare favorably with other nice places right in town but what makes us even better value are all the things we provide for free; full breakfast, unlimited high speed wifi, private parking and the big lounges of this heritage home. If I can, I love to drive guests to attractions and give them...

My wife and I started out New Zealand and Australia trip in Auckland and stayed at the Braemar. John welcomed us with open arms and reached out to us prior to our arrival with advise and recommendations.
