Flew into Auckland from Sydney and had a airport transfer to the hotel that took about half an hour. There is a drop off zone in front of the hotel which works most of the time. Very pleasant greeting by reception and assistance to room with luggage. Quite a small hotel with only two floors and a single lift. Very nice spacious ‘superior room’ on the second floor included a super king sized bed, tea/coffee making facilities, large bathroom with his & hers wash hand basins, full sized bath, large walk-in shower and enclosed toilet. All the usual nice toiletries. The bar and restaurant were just one floor down and had a nice intimate feel about them. Continental breakfast was included with cooked items as extras. However, the Continental breakfast included muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit, croissant, toast butter and jams. It was substantial on its own. The hotel is centrally located and within easy walking distance of the waterfront, university, sky tower, museum and botanic gardens, the latter being a little over one mile. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, friendly and very keen to help. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Stayed here one night at the start of our New Zealand trip. Couldn't fault it. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the room was spacious with a separate seating area, the breakfast included in the room price was continental and sufficient for us both though cooked extras could be ordered if required. The atrium bar and restaurant areas were very pleasant. The location is central but the room overlooking the atrium was perfectly quiet.

We arrived from our flight mid morning and were very tired. Unfortunately we discovered that our travel company hadn't booked an early check-in. The staff were so helpful. They took our cases offered refreshments and said we could relax in the lounge whilst they prioritised the cleaning of our room. We chose to try to stay awake whilst visiting the city. Only a couple of hours later the hotel called us to say the room was ready. It was a lovely clean room. We were also given a voucher for two free cocktails at the bar that evening. The hotel is very close to all of the city attractions and amenities. Breakfast was a good range of food. We loved it here.

Very well located hotel, close to all the action, walking distance to the harbour area and city centre but in a nice quiet street near bars and restaurants. About 10 mins walk to the tourist bus stop.
We stayed in a loft room which is a duplex over two floors, it comfortably accommodated myself and two adult children, one on the sofa bed which was perfectly comfortable for an adult, and super comfy twin beds upstairs. Very good bathroom with a massive bath and good shower. There was a second loo downstairs as well as a a small table and seating area, good to have a kettle to make tea.
Breakfast was very good, continental breakfast was included but you can pay extras for eggs, bacon etc which was all freshly prepared.
Great little hotel, definitely recommended.

Back in 2009 I was excited to chance upon Hotel DeBretts House Bar with it's small-but-perfectly-formed size and style. I asked the barman what the accommodation was like and was immediately given a personal tour of the suites and rooms, I was so impressed and am slightly embarrassed to admit it has taken so many years to actually book a a stay (although I do live a mere 20 minute walk away so it seemed overly decadent for a while). 2020's events + my birthday this year left no more excuses and I just wish I'd booked 2 nights instead of 1. Everything was perfect from start to finish; check in, perfect room, immaculately clean and organised, little touches, discreet/polite staff, breakfast...EVERYTHING. Even living a personal item was no big deal and is waiting at reception for collection at my convenience. I cannot wait to book another, longer stay. Thank you DeBretts!

The Hotel was a little hard to find, because it's in a very narrow street, but once we got there, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was two levels which gave us plenty of space, and we loved the big shower, separate tub and heated floor in the bathroom! We wished the curtains shut out more light in the morning, and there weren't a lot of channels on the TV, but we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the continental breakfast in the restaurant each morning, as well as our welcoming cocktail. It was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The location was great - we walked to the harbor and the Sky Tower and there were plenty of restaurants close enough for walking.

I booked a room for my mother's birthday and we were blown away by the service and careful attention to detail. The staff at Hotel DeBrett ensured this was a special experience for mum and she loved her stay in one of the suite rooms which was both spacious and stylish. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant and the cocktail menu at the housebar is not-to-be-missed! Highly recommended for anyone considering a special occasion or weekend away, this is my top choice for central Auckland accommodation.

The second time we have stayed in this central hotel. This visit only for one night but again we found it a delightful place. Boutique atmosphere with comfy bed. Although you can pay for additional cooked breakfast we found the included muesli, yoghurt, fruit and pastries more than adequate. Highly recommended.

Just ended a 3 night stay at this lovely boutique hotel. All the staff are so friendly and you immediately felt at home. The location is perfect for a stay in Auckland, only a 5-10 minute walk to shops, the harbour for all the restaurants and bars and the ferry to Waiheke which is worth a visit. The area felt very safe. The room was nicely done and did not feel like a hotel room, again making you feel more at home. It was a decent size with air conditioning and included dressing gown and slippers, a well stocked mini bar, small fridge, tea and coffee (they will bring you some milk for your tea if you ask them). The bathroom shower was large with very good water pressure with normal shower and rain shower and included shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body moisturiser. The bedding was decent quality cotton, choice of pillows and the bed was amazingly comfortable for a fantastic nights sleep. The only one thing we found a little annoying was that from our room (212) we could hear the background music from the restaurant, our room overlooked the restaurant but the noise was coming from the open door on the landing rather than through the patio door, the music started at 7.30 and turned off at around10. If this would annoy you make sure you ask for a different room. We enjoyed 3 great breakfasts here and between us, sampled everything on the menu, all cooked to order by the chef in the open kitchen and all extremely tasty. We also enjoyed one evening meal here, opting for the 3 course set menu which was really, really good, in particular the panacotta and chocolate sponge desserts. Although we complained about the music in our room, it was great to have the music playing in the restaurant whilst dining in there. There is a Bar in the hotel and also one on the outside. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return if we ever found ourselves in Auckland again.

With Napier Art Deco only days away, you cannot beat a night or 2 of delectable Art Deco atmosphere and excellent service at Hotel DeBrett.
We enjoyed an executive suite which had enough room to relax and spend 3 - 4 days, while one took in the Auckland Americas Cup festivities.
The king size bed was sublime and the Art Deco furnishings throughout, really gives the room ambience.

We also participated in the famed Hotel DeBrett ‘High Tea’, which was perfect, well presented and exquisite, but not over the top. The delectable’s were all small enough, that one would not have a guilt conscience with the waist measurements, after the occasion :o)

Hotel Debrett has valet parking. There is also a parking garage nearby for self-parking. We opted for valet parking since the price was quite reasonable.

My adult son used the sofa bed for 4 nights he said it was very comfortable, he’s a big lad so it should be fine for anyone! It’s very wide and made up with super comfy duvets.
