Friendly, helpful. High Standards. The Fruit Platter was very fresh , staff were very helpful. Room Service was very good. Secure parking was a short distance from the Hotel. Close to attractions. Quiet rooms.
We arrived at the hotel at 3.30pm, and our room was still not ready. 20 minutes later I was asked if I was happy to take a room with two queens beds rather than the king i’d booked -I said ok but upon inspection the room with the “queen” beds sure looked like doubles to my wife and I - so I went back to reception and insisted they just give us the room we booked. Another 20 minutes later, we finally had access to the room. The check in was a complete shambles - took a while for me to calm down after that! Poor experience - and noise from people coming and going from the lifts was less than ideal.
The staff were really friendly at the hotel and very helpful. Currently they are not cleaning rooms during your stay, but this didn't bother me at all. It would have been nice to have a couple of other things in the room, like a bottle opener etc. A few hotels have removed little extras like that because of Covid. I liked that they had an eye makeup remover wipe in the bathroom, as I forgot mine, but there was only one for a 2 night stay, and as the rooms aren't serviced, I only had the one. It might be nice to put extra toiletries in the rooms if they aren't being serviced. Overall, it was a great stay, nice room, comfy bed, quiet, good wifi, good location. I'd stay again!
I always rate my stay at hotels based on the three b's – bed, bathroom and breakfast. The bed is comfortable and gave me a good night's sleep, the bathroom was clean, shower was excellent. The water dispersion is perfect. The areas where it brought the rating down for me were the food, so I stayed for the whole overnight and half the day next. All in all, I've had two breakfasts, two lunches and one four-course meal for dinner. The breakfast selection was fine, fruit salad really good. Lunch was a bit of a hit and miss for me, I enjoyed the Pad Thai and I'm guessing the beef stew type of dish is the best option. I'm a bit of a foodie so I've been very critical in that aspect. If that part could be improved then I would surely rate the experience higher.
Kiora Team Fantastic team at the Rydges Auckland from Wesley day manager to Savelo on night security Looking forward to staying there in the near future, while using my zip payment, awesome Nga Mihi Baz Tau
My wife and I had booked a ten-week trip, covering 11 countries, for our 40th anniversary, and New Zealand was the eighth country visited in our trip, where we had booked a 15-day tour of both islands with Travelmarvel by APT. The tour kicked off in Auckland, where we were booked into Rydges and would meet the other travellers on the same trip. This hotel is quite well located, only a one-minute walk to the Sky Tower, if you fancy a panoramic view over the city, and around 5 – 10 minutes to the waterfront and ferry port. We had a nice room, with a good shower and comfortable bed. The room had an iron and ironing board, hair dryer and a large safe for any valuables. Our evening meal was organized by the Tour Operator and the food was fine, with a good selection of wines and beers available from the bar. Breakfast was very good and was served in the same area as our evening meal. Staff were friendly and efficient, especially considering they had to deal with such a large group (40 people) checking in and out around the same time.…
I found the Hotel Manager James exceptionally helpful, welcoming, flexible accomodating, polite and a real credit to his employers and the tourist industry in general. I have had excellent service and been phoned on a daily basis asking if they could assist me in any way a plentyful supply of compilmentary toiletries, drinks, milk sugar, soap ect has been supplied without the need to ask. The attractive rooftop area of the hotel is utilised and covered and heated the area is availble for exercise, meetings, weddings and functions of all types. I have found the room service meals are of execptional quaility with excellent healthy ingredients of adequate volume which is often a fail for many five star hotels. Generally the Hotel room fittings are modern new paint and carpet with modern bathrooms, iron ironing board, fridge, king bed, armchair, plenty of pillows, desk, free wi fi, endless T.V Channels the propety cannot be faulted thanks a large part I suspect to the Hotels Manager. I have enjoyed my stay very much and would recommend the property to anyone.…
Hotel room a good size with a comfortable bed but the view into a quadrangle was not the best. Breakfast buffet had a wide range on offer, if a bit pricey (Auckland prices?). All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we arrived after 30 hours travelling and just wanted our bed! Worth asking the concierge about discounts on tours, etc. Hotel near to sky tower (2-3 minutes), city bus tour (by Sky tower) and harbour (10 minute walk).
Stayed after getting locked down by virus. All fine but kitchen would not allow metal cutlery and normal crockery to be used, all room service was from cardboard box . Despite lockdown rules, we were allowed to go out for exercise so it was good to get away from the room.
Good comfortable hotel, centrally located near the Sky Tower. If arriving from the airport using the SkyBus service get of at stop 10 on Queen Street, Auckland. The hotel is located on a street running parallel to Queen Street but up a fairly steep hill - especially if pushing two heavy suitcases!
