Stayed here as part of a so-called "luxury" National Geographic tour. The hotel was dated and there was no breakfast as you had to get a $28 voucher and go to the local cafe round the corner which didn't cover much. I was also sent an unexpectedpackage to the hotel which they didn't give me on check in so had to chase it. However if you have paid NZ$200 then this is a centrally located hotel.

This hotel truly should merit five stars; only the elevator issues detracted from our 4 night stay. The hotel is perfectly situated, the rooms are spacious and spotless, and the views from upper floors are wonderful. The pool is a great oasis, restaurants are plentiful and very close, and the housekeeping service is wonderful. Even with all those positives, the one reason that I absolutely loved this place was the staff. To a person, each of the people that we encountered was friendly, professional, and very helpful...especially to us as this was our first ever visit to NZ. A very special shout out goes to Alessa who helped check us in and was always smiling no matter how many times we asked questions of her. Another special mention goes to Eniko who helped us navigate a tricky restaurant reservation issue for a group of 10 of us at the last minute. She (along with help from Ajay), secured our group a table within walking distance with finesse and a calm that belies her age. She deserves a raise! This is a stellar choice to stay in the CBD of Auckland...especially when the elevators are 100% updated!

Lovely hotel smack bang in the middle of Auckland. Easy to get around, close to everything, good restaurants a couple of streets away (note there is no restaurant in the hotel), friendly welcome. Our suite was on the 16th floor and very well appointed. Unfortunately, our aircon didn't work and it was quite humid so we ended up sleeping with the windows open (thankfully NZ doesn't have the flies and mozzies that Australia are plagued with). Because of this, we were woken from 4am onwards when the road / subway workers started their shifts. The suite has lounge / dining / kitchen, separate bedroom with ensuite. Lovely furnishings and comfy bed.

City Life concept is my preference because of the large suites, with a kitchenette and washing machine and dryer. I have stayed here plenty of times over the years - both for work and for leisure. The restaurant used to be excellent for breakfast but unfortunately this has been closed for ages now, hopefully they will reopen this. 22nd floor had great views and no noise. Staff were friendly and professional. Parking is a little expensive but its valet. Location is mid Queen Street, so walking distance to cafes, restaurants, ferries etc..

Attention to detail, super clean and spacious plus great linens and towels. I would stay here again, great location, central most things. The hotel has been well designed and mine had a well equipped kitchen including a french press coffee pot, coffee and milk in the fridge. Nice bath products and towels were lush. A great property that should meet and exherd most people standards!

This was such a great hotel for us. I was travelling with my partner and my best friend, and we were able to get a two-bedroom suite with a kitchen and common room. It's actually two hotel rooms with the separating doors opened up, but it worked out great. Our bedrooms were on opposite sides of the common area, so we could have privacy at night, but share breakfast in the mornings. The hotel was very clean, the service was great, and the location is perfect - right in the middle of everything! Despite being on a busy avenue, our room was quiet at night. The hotel restaurant is no longer open, but that wasn't really an issue since there is a great mini-mart across the street from the lobby and there is an abundance of great restaurants within a block or two. The front desk staff were able to accommodate an early check-in despite no warning from us, and they were very helpful any time we needed something or had questions.

The best part of the stay was the kind and attentive staff at this hotel. Otherwise this hotel is average and maybe closer to 3 stars vs 4. Rooms were clean and cared for. Mattresses were a bit old and very soft, so that you kind of sink into them. A foul smell emanated from the bathroom, such that we had to keep the door closed all the time. And it was intermittently very noisy - loud banging and slamming at all hours. I’m assuming this was other patrons and due to thin walls but I can’t be sure. I wouldn’t go so far as to say “don’t stay here” but for me, these are all important caveats to be aware of.

Stayed in 2 bed apartment for 3 nights with wife and two children. Two bedroom apartment was clean and good size. Facilities in apartment were good, and my children enjoyed the gym and swimming pool. Good location. Would stay again if in Auckland.
