We stayed twice whilst touring in WA. The hostel itself is located in what felt like an unsavoury area and isolated. The rooms where clean but nothing great. The noise from the trains is pretty much constant, we stayed either on ground floor or first floor. The kitchens are okay, but the dining room is drab, virtually empty walls and no...

Nice place to have a short stay., situated within the hart of Perth city. Within walking distance to train station and attractions site. Rooms are clean and well maintained, doors locked after midnight only accessible by tenant with the given room access. Most of the local day tour able to pick up in the hotel. Recommended for backpackers or how...

I did not like the location of this hostel; I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and the staff was not very informative or friendly. I would rather spend more money for a nicer place than stay here again. pros: free wifi and clean rooms

Not a bad price for location and a backpackers. Staff were polite and really helpful with tours and advice. We stayed in a family room with private ensuite. Everything was clean and amenities were in reasonable condition. Be aware the trains are very intense in the morning, starting regular intervals at 0500hrs on weekdays, our room overlooked the tracks so...

Great location, good facilities, and helpful staff. I really enjoyed staying here, it was beyond my initial expectation. Easy access by public transportation (CAT Bus, Bus, or train). Will consider staying here again if I go back to Perth.

We stayed twice recently, one day in a double room without facilities and two weeks later four nights in a double room with en suite. The rooms were fine and we had no problems with train noise even though the rooms ovelook the railway lines. The self catering kitchen should be avoided. There were no plugs for the sinks which...

Advertised as a 5-star hostel, the Perth City YHA falls well short of expectations. If this is 5-star, it is difficult to imagine what a 1-star place might look like. We opted for a double ensuite room. The room we were in, at $125/night, was adequate but no more. It had a bed, a bathroom, lights, A/C a TV and...

Nice spacious hostel with a pool and gym. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The only problem is that the hostel is right next to the railway, so you will hear the trains coming by every couple of minutes.

We have stayed in many YHAs worldwide, and this one is of a reasonable standard. Our double room with ensuite was basic but comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, and always plenty of instant hot water in the shower. Convenient location, within walking distance of most sights, and with free CAT bus stops handy. Although near the railway traclks,...

The young British man who greeted me at the reception desk was unprofessional, unfriendly and just plain useless! He clearly has not been taught any customer service skills...He made me wait for 5-10 minutes whilst he was counting coins behind the desk, he clearly looked annoyed when I said I was happy to stand waiting rather than sit and wait...
