Rooms are small but extremely well looked after. Very clean. Ideal for short holiday if out most of time. Close to all that Melbourne has to offer....transport, shops, parks. One problem ..reception slow to respond but staff have to multitask it seems. Need more staff. Enjoyable stay. Forget breakfast though!

Stayed there for 5 nights, extremely poor service. Reception has no one all the time even if you ring the service bell. Housekeeper won't wash your cups, won't refill toiletries, if you ask for something, get down to the lobby to get it. Dim lighting, spoiled table lamp, I met 5 hotel employees and 4 of them are extremely rude....

Stayed just one night with my sister. Good location not too far from town and within walking distance of sky bus terminal. Comfy bed, good heating. Had free breakfast the next day which was also good. Wouldn't recommend anymore than a weekend stay, rooms are quite small. Overall a good experience

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The boss is a rude arrogant PIG. The majority of the staff are slow and stupid. Rooms are a disgrace. Worst hotel I have been to. And I've travelled 42 countries. Stay clear of this S$&@ hole. Stay on the street instead. It will be cleaner and more pleasant

Great location, a little quirky and comfortable bed and good size room. Staff can be hard to find. A hot breakfast was included and excellent - service was a little slow here too but the choice and quality was great.

Spent three nights and were impressed with the service, tariff and the cheap pub meals. The rooms and breakfast were adequate but the location was the big winner. Walking distance to the Victoria markets, Ethihad stadium, Spencer street station and even the casino.

This is a budget hotel with budget rooms, so don't expect too much. However, to have a room and breakfast for $104/night is incredible value and the bed was extremely comfortable. We just wanted a cheap place to stay for our final night in Melbourne that was close to Southern Cross station and this was a perfect location. The reception...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
