This is NOT a fancy hotel. Don't let the photos fool you. It's budget. The room was at the back of the hotel. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The freezer in the fridge was so iced up the fridge door wouldn't shut and it was leaking all over the carpet. The hotel was cheap by comparison. The location...

This has been somewhat revamped. Still quite basic but great if you are only going to sleep here. Close to Etihad and Southern Cross Station. Be warned though it takes 3-4 business days to get the $150 security deposit back they take.

I have seen a lot of bad reviews for this hotel, but I didn't have a problem. The lady at reception wasn't all that friendly but the gentleman at night was very helpful. The room was small, but the bed was comfy and sheets were crisp and clean. There were a few scratches on the wall but I was only...

Great location. Not far from Southern Cross Station, 10 minute walk. The staff are very helpful and friendly in this family run hotel. We asked for a quiet room which we got. We had a nice cooked breakfast which was included in the price.

Long story short. The photos online looks great for the price. But when I arrived it was a different story. Took 5 minutes for someone to come to the reception. Services was below average, she looks like she didn't want to be there at all but whatever she probably just had a bad day. Went to our room, it was...

When we arrived there was no one at reception, we rang the bell twice and waited 5 or so minutes before a girl came out, she wasn't very nice either. Our room was tiny, had cracks in the walls, stained carpet AND NO BATHROOM. The bathroom is shared with all guests.. the place smelt as well, we were booked in...

The hotel is falling apart. The room allocated to me was really old and the bathroom was mouldy. Some live electric wires were sticking out in the room, the fridge door did not close, and the iron wasn't working. The check-in happened after I waited for like 25 mins (as they was no one at the reception). When I was checking...

I had booked accomodation for this hotel back in December for a 4 night business trip in February. Last night I was stuck outside on the footpath at 11pm as they did not answer their door or phone. The operator at Booking.com could not raise them either. I had to find another hotel which was very difficult as the city...

No toilet paper in toilet. Bathrooms yucky. No one cleans the shared bathroom!!! Abrasive reception staff. Old building. Lift is slow. No daily room cleaning. Cleaners were nice. Come with low expectations and you'll have a good time.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
